Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 to come with MIUI 9 and 3D facial recognition

Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, always has a surprise for the people by bringing out some amazing technology to the market. The company was one of the firsts to attempt manufacturing a smartphone with an edge-to-edge display, which was launched last year touted as Mi Mix. Now, as the device got so much of hype, the company is ready to bring the successor of the Mi Mix, the Mi Mix 2. There have been a lot of leaks and rumours lately about the Mi Mix 2.

Recent reports from Weibo, a Chinese website, suggest that the Mi Mix 2 will sport 3D facial recognition. A screenshot shared at Weibo from the Mi Mix 2 shows an outline of a head on the lock screen which gives us a clue that the device wants the user to look at it to unlock. As per the tipster, this new feature will be implemented in the upcoming MIUI 9, sadly it won't be available to every MIUI 9 compatible Xiaomi device.

It is also being said the smartphone will sport a 16-megapixel dual-camera setup at the back with a dual tone LED flash. Up front, the phone will include a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone will feature a 6.4-inch display and will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI 9. All of this will be backed by a 4,500mAh battery.
