Chinese Electronics manufacturer, Xiaomi is keen on making the user experience of its smartphones better. At least till they beat Android One. The company released a new update to the MIUI 9 for the purpose of the same. The latest version of MiUi is called the MiUi 9.5. The company rolled out the stable version of the same to some of its smartphones. The new ROM, however, is still based on the Android 7.1 Nougat. There is still no sign of Android 8.0 Oreo. However, apart from having an older Android build, there are many updates to the ROM. The biggest visible change is in the Notification shade and Quick replies. There are many other small UI changes everywhere.
The company has released the full update changelog for the new MIUI 9.5 update. Also, the stable build of the ROM is available to download, only for select devices. Currently, these phones are the Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3S/ 3S Prime. The update can be flashed via the recovery mode or the fastboot mode.

Fixes: WhatsApp issue when using it on the dual apps fixed. Also fixed are the home screen slow down issues. This also turns off the automatic updates. Incorrect battery level reporting is also fixed. The support for RTL is updated.
System: New notification format for more floating effect while in landscape mode. Settings force closed is fixed and the earphones volume automatically changing is fixed.
Contacts: New feature added enabled for pressing and holding the button for the quick dial on the keypad.
Gallery: Added ability to crop scrolling screenshots. Now the images are auto downloaded from Mi Cloud. Users can now choose a custom cover for albums.
Xiaomi's Mi Apps: Recommendations for the Mi Apps for new users. Also, overall minor updates and bug fixes for all Mi Apps.
Mi Wallet: Better UI under the accessibility mode.
Xiaomi took on Twitter to announce the rollout of the new MiUi version. The tweet also shows the list of the smartphones getting the new update. If you smartphones name is on the list you will soon get the update. If you wish you update now you can manually flash the ROM using the links mentioned above.
