Lava Z50 is India's first Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone: Price, Specifications

Lava mobiles have launched a new ultra-budget Android smartphone in India. The Lava Z50 is the first smartphone in India to come with the Android Oreo (Go Edition). Google launched the Android Oreo (Go Edition) a few months ago which is designed to give a better Android experience on smartphones with 1GB or lesser RAM.

Specifications

In terms of specifications, the Lava Z50 sports a 4.5-inch TFT display with a resolution of 480x854 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek 6737m SoC which is a quad-core processor clocked at 1.1GHz. The device packs in 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. The storage is further expandable up to 64GB using a microSD card. The Lava Z50 runs on Android Oreo (Go Edition) out of the box. Under the hood, there is a 2,000mAh battery powering up the internals.

On the optics front, the Lava Z50 features a 5-megapixel camera with a LED flash at the front as well as the back. The camera on the software also allows users to take pictures with Bokeh mode.

Price and Availability

The Lava Z50 is launched with a price tag of Rs. 4,400. With the Airtel's ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ campaign, you can get the smartphone for as low as Rs. 2,400. Airtel is offering a cashback offer worth Rs. 2,000 with the purchase of the smartphone. As a part of the launch offers, Lava is offering free one-time screen replacement for one year. Surprisingly, the company is offering 2-years of warranty on the smartphone.
