Apple iPhone 8 might now be called iPhone Edition

Apple is now set to launch the most anticipated smartphone of the year in a couple of days now. Apple will be conducting an event on September 12 where they will unveil the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus alongside the most awaited iPhone 8. The launch is somewhere around the corner and we have had enough leaks and rumours to give us a clue on what the device will be like.

Now it is being said that Apple may switch the name from iPhone 8 to iPhone Edition as this is the 10th anniversary iPhone from apple and this phone will bring a big change over the previous generation in terms of design. The new iPhone is also being rumoured to bring the most awaited feature, wireless charging.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the iPhone 8 is expected to feature a 5.1-inch edge-to-edge OLED display with a resolution of 1242x2800 pixels delivering a pixel density of 601ppi. The smartphone will be powered by the company's latest A11 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The phone will be introduced in three storage variants, base variant being 64GB and going all the way up to 512GB with 256GB sitting somewhere in the middle. The iPhone 8 will run on iOS 11 out of the box.

On the optics front, it is being said that the iPhone 8 will sport a 12-megapixel dual camera setup at the back with a dual tone LED flash. Up front, the phone will come with a 7-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.

The iPhone 8 will come with a higher price tag as compared to the previous generations. It is being rumoured that the base variant with 64GB of onboard storage will be priced at $999 which roughly converts to Rs. 64,000.
