Apple has recently launched the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus alongside the all-new iPhone X globally. Now it's time to introduce the new set of iPhones in India. The company had already set September 29 as the launch day for its smartphones in India. Pre-orders for both the smartphones have already started on September 22.
The iPhone 8 sports a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 750x1334 pixels whereas the iPhone 8 Plus comes with a bigger 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. Both the smartphones are powered by the Apple A11 Bionic chipset coupled with Apple's own GPU. The iPhone 8 comes with 2GB of RAM while its elder brother comes with 3GB of RAM. Both the devices are available in 64GB as well as 256GB storage variants. Also, both the iPhones run on iOS 11 operating system out of the box. As far as the battery capacity is concerned, the iPhone 8 comes with a 1821mAh battery while the iPhone 8 Plus packs in a larger 2691mAh battery.
In the camera segment, both the new iPhones feature a 7-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. The iPhone 8 sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, phase detection autofocus, optical image stabilization and a quad-LED flash. On the other hand, the iPhone 8 Plus features a 12-megapixel dual-camera setup at the back with phase detection autofocus and a quad-LED flash.
As far as the pricing is concerned, the Apple iPhone 8 is available for as low as Rs. 64,000 for the 64GB variant while the 256GB variant retails for Rs. 77,000. The bigger iPhone 8 Plus goes for Rs. 73,000 and Rs. 86,000 for the 64GB and 256GB storage variant respectively. Both the iPhones will go on sale in India today starting 6 PM. The smartphones will be available via major e-commerce websites like Flipkart, Amazon, Infibeam and will be even available on Jio's website. The phones will also be available in the offline markets like the Croma, Reliance Digital Vijay Sales and many others.
For the offers, Amazon India allows exchange discounts of up to Rs. 16,500 on iPhone 8 and 8 Plus 64GB variant. Customers buying the 256GB variants of the smartphones will be able to claim a maximum exchange discount of Rs. 12,100. Also, No cost EMI is available by all major banks.
Amazon's direct rival Flipkart offers exchange discount of up to Rs. 23,000 on any storage options of the new iPhones. Customers shopping with Citi Credit or World Debit cards will be able to get Rs. 10,000 cashback which will be credited on or before December 30, 2017. Also, do note that the offer is available only via the seller Shreyash Retail Pvt. Ltd. (SuperCom Net) on Flipkart.
Jio, on the other hand, will be selling the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus via their Jio website, Jio Stores and Reliance Digital stores. The same Citibank cashback offer provided by Flipkart is also applicable here. Apart from the cashback, users can also have the joy of Jio's exclusive tariff plans for the two new iPhones.
