Asus is currently gearing up to launch the successor to ZenFone Max Pro M1, the ZenFone Max Pro M2. While the launch event is getting closer, reports suggest that the Max Pro M1 will receive its much-awaited Android 9 Pie update in February 2019. Here's everything that the new update will offer.
While Asus has not made any announcement, this report is coming from a ZenFone Max Pro M1 user who called up the customer care. A company representative told the customer that they are working on the update and it should arrive sometime in February 2019.
As the ZenFone Max Pro M1 runs on stock Android, the Android Pie update will bring all the changes introduced by Google including Adaptive battery, gesture navigation, Digital Wellbeing and much more. Apart from Android Pie, the update will also bring in the latest security patch.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Specifications
Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 features a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2160x1080 pixels. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with Adreno 509 GPU. It comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, which is further expandable using a microSD card. All of this is backed by a 5,000mAh battery.
Meanwhile, the Taiwanese giant is all set to launch the ZenFone Max Pro M2 on December 11, 2018. The smartphone is said to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with up to 6GB of RAM. It will feature a 6.3-inch FullHD+ IPS LCD display with a notch. Just like the ZenFone Max Pro M1, this one will also pack in a massive 5,000mAh battery.
