Top Five reasons for not buying the Samsung Galaxy S8

Top 5: Reasons to not buy the Samsung Galaxy S8

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is an extremely feature-filled smartphone. But, we have found 5 reasons to why you might want the skip this one.

Samsung recently unveiled its new flagship to the world the Galaxy S8. Thus bring an end to all the speculations and leaks that were in the market regarding this smartphone. Though the Galaxy S8 having a lot of great features, did not take us by surprise. As it being the first flagship launch since the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, Samsung had to hit the ball out of the park.

Do not take us in the wrong way, The Samsung Galaxy S8 most likely is going to be the world's best Android phone of the year. With the bezel-less infinity display, modern design, an artificial intelligence software “Bixby”, Samsung Dex, great hardware, and much more.

But, we still think that you should hold off on buying the Galaxy S8. And either go in for some other smartphone or wait till the next Note or Galaxy S9 launches. Here we have curated five reasons on why you will want to skip the S8.

No camera upgrades

There is no doubt that when the Samsung Galaxy S7 launched it had the best in class camera, but to use the same camera module for next flagship is just lazy. We expected that the camera in the galaxy S8 would be mind-blowing and much better than the S7, Pixel or the iPhone 7. But, No Samsung outfitted the Galaxy S8 with the same camera found in the Galaxy S7. At least Samsung could have gone the route of the dual cameras that every tech company is following. Let's hope the next Note or the Galaxy gets a better camera module.

Fingerprint sensor

We do appreciate Samsung making the effort and giving us a bezel-less display, and going the extra mile to add a retina scanner. But, the Galaxy S8's biggest design flaw is its fingerprint sensor placement. Samsung has now moved the fingerprint scanner from the front to the rear adjacent to the camera. This basically makes the fingerprint sensor useless, as now you will have to find the sensor on the back and you will be smudging the camera lens a lot. Though we here at Beetel Bite prefer rear fingerprint sensor, but not so awkwardly placed as the Galaxy S8.

The Galaxy Note 7 debacle

Though the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus are great smartphones, but we would still say try not to buy these as soon as they come out and wait at least a few months. This is due to the Galaxy Note 7 debacle did not happen a long time ago, and Samsung may still have to iron out some kinks in the Galaxy S8.

The display

Samsung has made the Infinity display in the Galaxy S8 a huge deal. And mind our language but, we feel its extremely cool. But, such a large screen as per us is not required by everyone. And Samsung though promoting the screen as a Quad-HD display has put a bullet point on their website saying that the screen will come default on 1080p and you can crank that up in the settings if you want.

A lot of alternatives available

If Samsung Galaxy S8 didn't win you over with its amazing features like Dex, Bixby, etc. there is a wide variety of smartphones you can buy which suit your needs. You can go in for the Apple iPhone 7 Plus which as per us is also a great smartphone. Or, if you like the Android flavour better go for the Google Pixel. And if you do not have a huge budget try the OnePlus 3T it is an equally capable phone. Or if neither of these smartphones appealed to you just go ahead and get an Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, we don't see many new changes in the S8 vs the S7.
