Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have their launch around the corner. Just like every other hyped smartphone, these have also received a lot of leaks and rumours way ahead of the launch. As the launch gets closer, we the blurry details get sharper and better. Google is about to launch the new Pixel smartphones on October 4 at an event held in San Francisco. Recent reports from Android Authority have helped us figure out what will be inside the upcoming Pixel 2 smartphones.
As far as the specifications are concerned, reports suggest that the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, the flagship chipset offering from Qualcomm. These reports contradict earlier reports which suggested that the upcoming smartphones will come with Snapdragon 836 or Snapdragon 845. The bigger Pixel 2 XL is suggested to feature a Quad HD display while the Pixel 2 will sport a Full HD display panel. In terms of protection, the smartphones will come with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for the display protection and will be IP67 rated for dust and water resistance.

For the optics, reports claim that Google might change the name of the cameras, calling them the 'Pixel Cameras'. The word cameras should not be mistaken by a dual-camera setup, as Google refers 'Pixel Cameras' to the front-facing camera and the rear camera combination.
The Google Pixel 2 will reportedly come with a 2,700mAh battery while the Pixel 2 XL will fill up the room with a bigger 3,520mAh battery. As far as the storage is concerned, the devices will come in 64GB and 128GB storage variants. The devices will run on the latest version of Android Oreo out of the box. Earlier reports also suggested that the Google Pixel 2 will be manufactured by HTC while the Pixel 2 XL will be made by LG.
However, none of this is confirmed and only based on reports. So, we can just take this as a pinch of salt and wait for Google to bring surprises with the upcoming Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
