Apple iPhone 4s was launched back in 2011. The smartphone still holds up against many premium flagships. The truth is, the iPhone 4s has shown his age now and with the iOS 9.3.5 update, the phone has got slow or rather unusable. In case you still have an iPhone 4s lying around and want to give it a new life, here's how you can downgrade it to iOS 6.1.3.
Apple, a few years ago, stopped signing older iOS versions for the Apple devices which made it nearly impossible to revert back to an older version after updating. Strangely enough, Apple recently signed iOS 6.1.3 for the iPhone 4s as well as the iPad 2.
Unfortunately, the people who purchased the Apple iPhone 4s (8GB) in or after 2015 will not be able to downgrade to iOS 6.1.3. Also, iPad 2 (mid-2012) models are also not signed to get the iOS 6.1.3.
The whole downgrade process will erase the data from your Apple device. So, we highly recommend you to take a backup of your photos, music and other files before starting with the process.
Prerequisites
- Apple iPhone 4s or iPad 2
- A USB Cable
- A Windows PC or Mac with the latest version of iTunes installed
How to downgrade to iOS 6.1.3
- Head over to ipsw.me
- Choose your product from the list and then select the model
- Under the "Choose the Version" tab you have to select iOS 6.1.3
- Now connect your iPhone or iPad to your PC or Mac using the USB cable
- Open iTunes, select your device and head over to the Summary tab
- Here's hold Shift (Windows PC) or Options Key (Mac) and click on "Restore iPhone..."
Now select the file you downloaded in the first step
iTunes will first extract the software package and then start downgrading your iPhone 4s or iPad 2. The whole process might take some time. If the process fails or just stucks at the loading screen, try doing the same process using another cable as the cable you used might be faulty.
its patched as of last year
I dont see a signed ipsw for 6.1.3..
Oh man, you are my savior. Have a great weekend!
