Nokia 6 (2017) starts receiving Android Oreo update: Here's how to get it

HMD Global has finally started rolling out the Android Oreo update for the Nokia 6. The company had the Android Oreo ready for the Nokia 6 under closed beta for a while now. The update is now finally ready and Nokia 6 users might get the update anytime soon. The Android Oreo update is now available for both Chinese and Global variants of the smartphones.

The new Oreo update weighs in at around 1.66GB. Nokia has pushed out the update as OTA (Over-the-air) and users will get a notification soon. To check for the update manually, head over to Settings. In the Settings menu, tap on About Phone > System Updates. Here you can tap on Check for the new firmware to check for any new updates.

What's New?

This new update on the Nokia 6 brings most of the features of Android Oreo. The features include Picture-in-Picture mode, Autofill, Notification dots and much more. Alongside the new features, the Android Oreo update also improves the device's overall performance. The update brings in faster boot time and improves battery life of the smartphone. Android Oreo also offers a new set of Emojis.
