OnePlus, a few weeks ago, a launched a successor to their flagship OnePlus 5, the OnePlus 5T. The company has now finally officially launched the much-awaited Star Wars Limited Edition variant of the OnePlus 5T. The new smartphone is a limited edition and has an appealing design. The device is made in such a way to attract Star Wars fans.

Design wise, the Star Wars edition is painted white at the back and has a Star Wars logo printed in Red on the back. To add a nice accent, the company decided to go with a red colour on the alert slider. The buttons, SIM tray and the camera bezels are painted black which match really well with the red and white theme going around the device. The device looks very similar to the regular variant of the OnePlus 5T.

On the software front, OnePlus has added a special Star Wars theme which changes the default colour of stock applications like Settings app to Black with Red accents. The company has also added a set of 10 exclusive Star Wars wallpapers to match the design of the phone.

Price, Availability and Offers

As far as the pricing is concerned, the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition is available only with the 8GB RAM variant that comes with 128GB of storage and is priced at Rs, 38,999. The price of the limited edition is just Rs. 1,000 more than the regular one. The device will go on sale exclusively via Amazon India and oneplusstore.in starting December 15. Customers can also experience and purchase the device across OnePlus Experience stores in Bangalore and Mall of India Noida.

Huawei Enjoy 7S with 18:9 display and dual-cameras to be launched next week

Huawei, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is reportedly working on a new smartphone called the Huawei Enjoy 7S. As the launch date is coming closer, we have got a glance at the device due to the leaked images and specifications.  The mid-range smartphone is said to launch in China on December 18. The launch date has been revealed by the company via Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website.

In terms of specifications, the Huawei Enjoy 7S is said to feature a 5.65-inch FullView display with a Full HD+ resolution. The smartphone will be powered by the company's own Kirin 659 SoC. The device will pack in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage which is further expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. The Enjoy 7S will run on EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Under the hood, there will be a 2,900mAh battery powering up the internals.

As far as the design of the phone is concerned, the images show that the Huawei Enjoy 7S will sport a full-screen display minimizing the bezels and giving a very modern look. As there is a full-screen display, the fingerprint scanner lies at the back below the dual-camera setup.

On the optics front, the Huawei Enjoy 7S will sport a dual-camera setup at the back consisting of a 13-megapixel primary sensor coupled with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. Up front, there will be an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.

Google Assistant rolling out for Android tablets as well as Android Lollipop devices

Everyone thinks Google is currently working on making its new release Android 8.1 Oreo a better and more usable operating system. The company has a soft corner for the devices which seem to be forgotten. Google has now started rolling out the Google Assistant, a voice assistant by Google, to Android tablets as well as for smartphones running on Android 5.0 Lollipop which was released around 3 years ago in 2014. The assistant on tablets will be available for Android tablets running on Android 7.0 Nougat or Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Tablets running on Android Nougat or Marshmellow will be receiving the Google Assistant update in coming weeks only if the device language is set to English in the US. However, smartphones running on Android Lollipop can get the Google Assistant if the language is set to English in countries like the US, UK, India, Australia, Canada and Singapore. The assistant on Lollipop will also be available to devices set in Spanish in the US, Mexico and Spain. The Google Assistant will also be rolling out to the Android Lollipop devices in Italy, Japan, Brazil, Germany and Korea.

According to the Android version distribution data, after the rollout, Google Assistant will be available to nearly 80 percent of the Android devices around the globe. Vodafone India has finally upgraded its popular Rs. 348 for its prepaid users. The company initially offered 1GB data per day with the Rs. 348 recharge. Now as the competition in the telecommunication industry is getting tough, Vodafone has decided to offer 2GB of 4G data per day instead of 1GB provided earlier. This new offer will help the company in retaining its customers and attracting more as it has a lot to offer for a relatively cheaper price.

With the company's new Rs. 348 recharge, users will get Rs. 2GB of data every day for 28 days making a total of 56GB of 4G data. Apart from the data, users will also get unlimited local and STD voice calls along with free roaming. However, the outgoing calls on this pack are capped at 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week crossing which the user will be charged 1 paisa per second.

Interestingly, the company is also offering a 5 percent cash back on the Rs. 348 plan when recharged via the Vodafone application or website. The cash back offer will make the recharge at an effective price of Rs. 330.

Meanwhile, Vodafone also introduced a Rs. 176 pack recently where users will get 1GB of 2G data every day along with unlimited calls. The unlimited calls are capped at 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. The Rs. 176 pack from the company comes with a validity of 28 days.

LG V30+ Hands-on Review: Will this smartphone be able to turn the tides for LG?

The South Korean Giant, LG launched their flagship LG V30+ earlier this year. The V30+ is one of the best phones launched by LG ever. It is a true flagship and stays true to the V series name by providing the best experience with high performing hardware and roughness of the old school devices.

Passing the 801G US military certified the LG V30+ packs a punch with the latest Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB of ram and 128GB for never-ending storage. Along with that it also has a micro-sd slot of up to 2TB. It sports a 6-inch P-OLED display with a resolution of 1440×2880 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio and a 32-bit Quad Hi-Fi Quad DAC for an immersive audio experience. It is all powered by a 3,300 mAH battery.

For the optics, the LG V30+ has a dual camera setup at the back. Including a 16MP and a 13MP wide angle sensor, with f/1.6 aperture and f/1.8 aperture respectively. The front camera is a 5MP wide-angle with a f/2.2 aperture.

Design

With an all glass and metal design, the LG V30+ feels premium in hand. The corning gorilla glass at the front and the back makes the phone quite durable but makes it a fingerprint magnet. The USB-C charging port along with a 3.5mm 32-bit Quad Hi-Fi Quad DAC is at the bottom. The rear hosts a dual camera setup with flash and the fingerprint sensor in the middle in a convenient place.

The 18:9 aspect ratio in the front helps to fit a massive 6-inch P-OLED display with a resolution of 1440×2880 pixels display in a convenient to handle shell. It looks like a true 2017 flagship plus the headphone jack.

Camera

The LG V30+ has a dual camera setup at the back with a 16MP primary sensor and another 13MP wide angle sensor, with f/1.6 aperture and f/1.8 aperture respectively. For the selfie lovers, the front camera is a 5MP f/2.2 aperture sensor.

The camera of the LG V30+ is truly amazing and lives up to the flagship expectation. The rear camera shoots beautiful shots with great focus and great lighting. The Wide Angle sensor does a great job of capturing more details with equally good quality.

The front camera is equally as good with the wide-angle camera doing its job in capturing more of the frame for groupies. But the front camera sensor is only 5MP which shows when zooming the photo. It results in a smaller image size, suitable for sharing online, as a result, it produces a hazy image when viewing it on a big screen. It is a fair trade-off.

LG said it has pre-built image modes for all type of photography with iso, shutter speed and all fixed for different scenarios but we weren't able to check that.

The LG V30+ is a great device to grab at the price of ₹44,990. With a great camera, good design, sturdy build and an above average battery life, the V30+ won't disappoint you. Furthermore, it is cheaper than its competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. For the early adopters, LG is giving out one-time free screen replacement along with a free wireless charger and in-app content for partner apps. Xiaomi Mi A1 starts receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update under the Beta program

Xiaomi, a few months ago, launched the Xiaomi Mi A1 which is the first attempt by the company on an Android One device. The Mi A1 is the only offering by the company that runs on stock Android while most of the smartphones by the company run on MIUI which is a custom ROM built on top of Android. Xiaomi is now working on bringing the Android Oreo software update to the much popular Mi A1.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Android Oreo Beta update for the Mi A1 weighs at around 1.1GB. The software update brings features of Android Oreo which include the picture-in-picture mode. The update also brings improvements to the performance of the device as well as the fingerprint scanner. Notably, this is the first major software update by Xiaomi for the Mi A1 since its launch. The Mi A1 currently runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat and will be getting the stable version of Android Oreo by the end of this year.

HMD Global to soon introduce a 2018 edition of the mid-range Nokia 6

Nokia, the Finish company now owned by HMD Global, has completed one year in the market since its comeback. Nokia was reintroduced with the Nokia 3310 followed by the Nokia 3, 5 and 6. The company brought back the build quality everyone loved by using a single sheet of 6000-series aluminium on each of their smartphones. The Nokia 6 (2018) has recently passed the TENAA certification in China with the model number TA-1054. Though the website has given only the model number, speculations suggest it to be the Nokia 6 (2018). The listing has not revealed any of the key information like the design or specifications. However, NokiaPowerUser has suggested that the listed device is the dual-SIM variant of the upcoming Nokia 6 (2018).

Idea offers 1GB data per day with unlimited calls even on roaming at an unbelievable price

Reliance Jio has changed the perspective of telecommunications in the country. Companies like Airtel, Idea and Vodafone are trying their best to cope up with the tough competition created by Jio. In order to get an edge in the competition, Idea has unveiled a new Rs. 309 pack.

The Rs. 309 pack by Idea for pre-paid users offer 1GB data per day for 28 days. Apart from the 28GB data, users will get unlimited local and national voice calls. Unlike other offer packs by the company, this one brings 100 SMS per day as well as provides free national roaming. The catch here is that the 1GB data allocation per day is 2G/3G and not the fastest available 4G. Users who purchase the pack via the official website or app will get an additional 1GB data for the validity period.
