Seeing the company's background we can say that this might be the smartphone to get if you are a gamer. said Min-Liang Tan, CEO of Razer

We knew that this was eventually going to happen after Razer acquired Nextbit earlier this year. However, we did think that the company would be launching the new mobile devices under the Nextbit branding. Which after the interview doesn't seem so.

HTC to announce its acquisition by Google tomorrow

HTC for some time now has been reported to be in talks with Google for the sale of their smartphone division. Back in August, a report from Bloomberg had suggested that HTC is considering to sell off one of its parts to another company, Google was the top contender that had made an offer. Two weeks ago a Taiwanese based media outlet reported that both the companies were in the final stages of negotiations, and a decision could be out soon. And as of today, we think that tomorrow is the day we get to hear the news.

A Bloomberg Gadfly employee Tim Culpan today, tweeted that HTC will halt trading of its stock on Thursday “pending a major announcement.” We have embedded the tweet below. It seems as if this will be the big announcement that will be made.

Today, giving us the second confirmation was the famous Twitter leakster, Evan Blass, he made a tweet that stated that he had received a copy of an internal invitation to an HTC Town Hall meeting. He also stated that this could be the meeting where the company will disclose being acquired by Google. He also mentioned that the deal will see Google acquire HTC's hardware assets, whereas the HTC name will stay with the company itself.

Also Read: Price of the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL leaked ahead of launch

If what is being said here by Evan Blass is true then we will see HTC sell off its smartphone division off to Google, and end up retaining its Vive VR and a few other businesses. However, due to the poor performance of its mobile business in the recent years, it was expected of HTC to get rid of it.
