Xiaomi recently announced that Redmi is now officially a sub-brand of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer. Since the announcement, the company has launched a couple of new smartphones including Redmi Note 7, Redmi 7 and more. Now, its time for Redmi to come up with their own flagship smartphone. While the Snapdragon 855 powered device is already in the works, Redmi's General Manager just confirmed some of its key features.

Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing, had recently come forward in order to bust some of the leaks and rumours that have been flying around about the Redmi's upcoming flagship. According to Weibing, the upcoming flagship will come with NFC as well as something that most smartphone manufacturers are eliminating these days, the 3.5mm headphone jack.

As per some of the previous leaks and rumours, the Redmi flagship is expected to come with a 48-megapixel, an 8 megapixel and a 13-megapixel sensor. Weibing has confirmed that one of those sensors will be a super wide-angle lens. Up front, there will be a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.

According to a few other leaks, the upcoming smartphone will feature a 6.39-inch display with a resolution of 2340x1080 pixels. The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor coupled with the Adreno 640 GPU. It will pack in 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.

While most of the leaks say that the upcoming flagship will be called the Redmi X, the Weibing claimed that it will be named something else. The leaks also suggest that it will come with a pop-up selfie camera in order to make room for a full-screen display.

However, we currently do not have all the information on the device and for that, we will have to wait for the launch.
