Sony Corporation, the Japanese giant, is now allegedly working on a new smartphone which will come in the mid-range lineup of the company. The new smartphone will be dubbed as the Xperia XA1 Plus and it will sit somewhere between the earlier launched Xperia XA1 and the Xperia XA1 Ultra. The reports are coming from a Russian website, MobilTelefon, and the images have also been shared on the website.
As far as the specifications are concerned, reports suggest, the XA1 Plus features a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels.The mid-range smartphone will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 chipset. The device will come with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. All of this is backed by a 3,430mAh battery, which if true could be the largest battery capacity ever seen on a Sony Xperia smartphone. The phone will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, which will soon get updated to Android 8.0 Oreo.

On the optics front, it is being said that the XA1 Plus will sport a 23-megapixel camera sensor at the back. Up front, the device will include an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.
However, we don't have any word on the pricing and availability as of now. The new mid-range smartphone might be unveiled tomorrow, August 31 at the Sony's IFA 2017 event. The company might also introduce the Xperia XZ1 and the XZ1 Compact. Pricing and availability details will also be shared during the event.
