Twitter adds 12 new live stream offerings

Twitter, has been struggling to get new users and advertisers onboard. And, this news about more live content has made the investors happy, thus shares of Twitter have seen a bump on Wall Street.

Twitter on Monday announced that they will start streaming the women's basketball league(WNBA) every week starting this month. The WNBA will continue streaming on their live platform till the end of 2019 season.

They also announced that this month they will also live stream a 360-degree video of the 17th hole at the PGA's Players Championship golf tournament, a weekly Baseball highlights and commentary show, and they are already live streaming one Major League game a week this season.

Also, beginning this month Live Nation Entertainment Inc. the music promoter will stream live concerts. BuzzFeed will also be broadcasting a morning show on their platform for trending tweets. This new live streaming platform will also include a news startup Cheddar which will stream an opening bell show every day.

Though the terms and conditions of these deals weren't disclosed. But, this might be them locking in various contracts, just to ensure last month doesn't happen again. Last month Twitter lost the deal to live-stream the National Football League to Amazon Inc. and suffered a huge loss.

Adding these 12 new live deals tonight is a testament to the success of our company, combining high-quality streaming video with our only-on-Twitter conversation.
