Xiaomi recently launched the much-awaited Xiaomi Redmi 5 in India. The smartphone is another budget smartphone that fills in the gap between the Redmi 5A and the Redmi Note. As the Redmi 4's successor is here, Xiaomi decided to give the Xiaomi Redmi 4 a price drop.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 has received a price cut of Rs. 500 in India. The company's Vice President, Manu Kumar Jain, made the announcement via his official twitter handle. The 3GB+32GB variant of the Redmi 4 is now available at Rs. 8,499. The smartphone was priced at Rs. 8,999 before the price drop. Similarly, the 4GB+64GB variant is now available at Rs. 10,499 instead of the earlier Rs. 10,999 price tag.

Specifications
Xiaomi Redmi 4 features a 5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC. The quad-core chipset is clocked at 1.4GHz and is coupled with the Adreno 505 GPU. The device comes with 3GB or 4GB of RAM with 32GB or 64GB of onboard storage. The smartphone runs on MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat. Under the hood, there is a 4,100mAh battery powering up the internals.

On the optics front, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 sports a 13-megapixel camera at the back. The rear camera comes with f/2.0 aperture and a LED flash. There is also a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a f/2.2 aperture.
In terms of connectivity, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 supports 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and microUSB.
