Xiaomi Redmi 5A now available in offline markets in India: Price and Availability

Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi 5A expanding its portfolio in India at an affordable price. The smartphone was launched under the tagline "DeshKaSmartphone" and the company was able to bring down the smartphone's price as it was "Made In India".

The smartphone was initially launched as an online-only smartphone where it was available only at Mi.com and Flipkart.com starting at Rs. 4,999. Now the 3GB RAM variant of the Redmi 5A has entered the offline markets with a price tag of Rs. 7,499. The offline price is slightly higher than the online price which is set at Rs. 6,999. Offline stores here means all the major Mi preferred stores across the country.

In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with Adreno 308 GPU. The smartphone features a 5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. The Redmi 5A was launched in two variants, one with 16GB of onboard storage while the other one comes with double the amount of storage at 32GB. The 16GB variant ships with 2GB of RAM whereas there is 3GB of RAM in the 32GB variant. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat.

As for the optics, the Redmi 5A sports a 13-megapixel camera at the back with an aperture of f/2.2 and a LED flash. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.

On the connectivity front, the Redmi 5A supports 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, IR Blaster and a micro USB port.
