Xiaomi recently introduced the Redmi 5 Plus as the Redmi Note 5 in India. The smartphone has been through a couple of flash sales since its launch. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has now started receiving its first major update, the Global stable build of MIUI 9.5. The MIUI 9.5 update will also soon make its way to the other smartphone including the Mi 3 and Redmi 3 via an OTA update in April.
Xiaomi's new MIUI 9.5.4.0.NCFMIFA update brings a bunch of new features, optimisations, and bug fixes to the table. The new features include quick search options, an option to resume interrupted transfers in the Mi Mover app without starting over, optimised browser kernel and sound recording options for the screen recorder app. The update also brings changes in the Gallery app which include Add photos to favorites and Optimize local storage to free up space. To install the latest update on your Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, head over to Settings>About Phone and here tap on System Updates. If there is an update available, you can start installing the update by following the on-screen instructions.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Specifications
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC. The smartphone features a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device packs in 3GB or 4GB of RAM coupled with 32GB or 64GB of onboard storage. The storage on the handset is further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. Under the hood, there is a 4,000mAh battery powering up the internals.
On the optics front, the Redmi Note 5 features a 12-megapixel camera at the back with f/2.2 aperture and a dual-tone LED flash. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie shooter.
