Motorola is expected to launch the Moto G6 Play along with G6 and G6 Plus soon. The G6 series will be the replacement for the Moto G5s series. It is rumoured to be launched at MWC 2018. The G6 Play has been spotted on benchmarking website Geekbench. However, the company doesn't have an event planned for the MWC, so that a mystery.
The Moto G6 Play gets a score of 472 in single core and 1801 in multi-core category. The GeekBench listing also reveals several details. these details include processor, memory and operating system. Also, the popular tipster Evan Blass took on Twitter to reveal their codenames. The G6 Play has been codenamed, Ashley. The codenames for G6 is Blaine, and for the G6 Plus is Teller.

According to the GeekBench listing, the Moto G6 Play sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. It will be coupled with 3GB of RAM and run Android 8.0 Oreo. Whats sad is the processor was unveiled in 2015 and is quite outdated. However, considering the G6 Play will be the most affordable in the G6 series, the cost-cutting is expected. Not much apart from that is known about the device, as of now. Although rumours are that the G6 Play could come with a 5.7-inch HD display. Also, it will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery.
Last year, Evan Blass also revealed on Twitter that Moto will bring back the Play devices in G series next year. Although Motorola launched the Moto G4 Play as a budget version of the Moto G4, the Moto G5 Play never saw the light. However, this could change this year with a Moto G6 Play.
Next year will see the return of Play to Lenovo's Moto G lineup in the form of the Moto G6 Play (alongside the G6 and G6 Plus).
