Asus ZenFone 5Z is expected to get the Android 9 Pie update in Q4 2018

Asus has finally started working on the Android 9 Pie update for their latest flagship smartphone, the Asus ZenFone 5Z. The smartphone manufacturer has already started testing the new operating system on the phone. GSMArena was the first one to spot some Geekbench results which showed Android Pie running the ZenFone 5Z.

As the company has started working on an Android 9 Pie build for the Asus ZenFone 5Z, this means that we should soon see a stable build for the smartphone. How soon still remains a question here. However, we expect the update to arrive sometime in the Q4 2018, possibly in November.

Once the update is rolled out for the flagship ZenFone 5Z, the company will start working on the Android 9 Pie build for their budget smartphone, the ZenFone Max Pro M1. It would not be hard for the company to develop a stable ROM for the Max Pro M1 in less time as it runs on a near stock version which means fewer customisations are needed to be made.
