Here's how to install Android 8.0 Oreo on your Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+

Samsung recently started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the flagship Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The software was first introduced under the Beta stage and then the official firmware was rolled out. Sadly enough, soon after the rollout, the company had to suspend the update due to a few bugs. Users who updated to Android 8.0 Oreo reported their devices are getting randomly rebooted. Samsung is working on a fix and should soon start rolling out the update again.

If you have already updated your device, there is nothing much to worry. Samsung, along with a fresh Oreo update, will also roll out a small update for those who are already on Android 8.0. This minor update will fix any bugs and make the software a more stable one. Before beginning with the procedure, we would strongly recommend you to backup your data. Also, it is recommended that your phone is charged to at least a 50 percent for an uninterrupted installation process.

Here's how to install Android 8.0 Oreo

1.) First of all, as soon as Samsung begins rolling out the update, you should receive a notification saying that an update is available.

2.) However, if you do not see such notification, you can head over to the Settings > Software Update > Download Updates Manually in order to check for any new updates.

3.) Once you have an update ready you will see a window showing a detailed information about the software update. Here, you just need to tap on download. The file size will be around 1.4GB which might take some time to download.

4.) After the software is downloaded, you can hit install which will allow your phone to reboot and do the installation process. Do note that during the installation process you will not be able to use your Galaxy S8 or S8+. Also, the installation process can take around 15-20 mins or in some cases even more than that

5.) Voila! Now your Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+ is running on Android 8.0 Oreo-based Samsung Experience 9.0.
