Here's when your Xiaomi smartphone will receive Android 9 Pie

Xiaomi has been known to be quite slow when it comes to providing Android updates. However, when they do push the MIUI updates, they make sure most of their smartphones get treated in the same manner. With the release of Android Q being just around the corner, here's when your Xiaomi smartphone is expected to receive the much-awaited Android 9.0 Pie update.

While most of the flagship smartphones from Xiaomi including Poco F1 and Mi Mix 3 are already running on the latest version of Android, there are still a few phones that are waiting for the update to arrive. The company will roll out the Android 9 Pie update for Redmi Note 5, Redmi S2 and Redmi Y2 this month.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, Mi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 and Mi Note 3 are expected to receive the Android 9.0 update sometime in Q2 2019. As for the phones like Mi 9 Explorer, Mi 6X and Redmi Note 6 Pro, the update will is still under development and the company has not given a date as of when the update will be available.

The list of devices mentioned above is applicable for both MIUI China ROM and MIUI Global ROM devices. The company is expected to first roll out a Beta version for public testing and the stable version to roll out soon after. Also, the list is not complete according to the MIUI forum administrator and will soon be updated. So, even if your phone is missing in the list, you can still have hope.
