OnePlus 5T to skip Wireless Charging as Dash Charging is much faster, says Pete Lau

OnePlus is all geared up to launch the successor to the Oneplus 5 calling it the OnePlus 5T. Previous leaks, rumours and hints have suggested us that the upcoming OnePlus 5T will just be the OnePlus 5 with improved display and camera while internals powering up the device be the same. The smartphone is set to launch on November 16 in New York. While the fans wait for the smartphone, there are people who have a dozen of questions related to the 5T some of which include the query about Wireless Charging and the 3.5mm Jack.

OnePlus 5T inviteOnePlus recently confirmed that the 5T will retain the beloved 3.5mm Audio Jack. Now the questions come up about the Wireless Charging. Most companies are selling their flagship devices with support to wireless charging including Apple. OnePlus still not implemented the wireless charging technology and people wanted to hear the reason. Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, recently in a blog post revealed the reasons for skipping the much wanted wireless charging.

Lau claims, "Wired quick charging solutions like ours clearly outshine wireless on quantitative measures. Just plug your device in, and Dash Charge produces 20 watts of power, reliably giving a day’s power in half an hour." Giving another reason for skipping the wireless charging, he added, "Dash Charge gives you enough power for the day with just one charging session. All you need is the Dash Charge cable and adaptor to consistently power your device at a superior rate. It doesn't matter whether you're gaming or streaming video. Dash Charge stays cool and power efficient."

To sum up, Pete Lau encourages the OnePlus users to use the Dash Charge technology as it is one of the fastest charging technology found on any smartphone. Wireless Charging can give convenience, but it cannot charge at the same charging speeds as found on Dash Charge.
