Google's new operating system version was announced in August and devices like the Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Pixel C tablet started receiving the OTA update by the first week of September. The Android Oreo brings several changes over the Android Nougat. The software version also brings features like picture-in-picture mode which is currently supported by few applications. Apart from the features, Google improved the battery performance by making some under the hood changes and also introduced faster boot time with the Pixel devices.

OnePlus 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with the Adreno 540 GPU. The smartphone comes in two variants, one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage and the other with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone is backed by a 3,300mAh battery which supports Dash Charge (company's proprietary fast-charging technology).
