Oppo F5 with 20MP front camera launched: Everything you need to know

Oppo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has finally unveiled the Oppo F5. After a lot of leaks and rumours, the successor of the F3 has finally been introduced. Just like the other handsets offered by the company, the Oppo F5 also focuses on the selfie and brings a 20-megapixel front-facing camera which is also a highlight of the smartphone. The phone also comes with a full-screen display with minimal bezels and artificial intelligence (AI) beauty technology integrated into the front camera.

Specifications

The Oppo F5 features a 6-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek MT6763T Helio P23 chipset. The phone comes in two variants, one with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage and the other with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. The storage on the device is expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. The phone is backed by a 3,200mAh battery and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat.

As far as the optics are concerned, the Oppo F5 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with an aperture of f/1.8, phase detection autofocus and a LED flash. Up front, there is a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Price and Availability

The Oppo F5 has been launched in the Philippines for a price of PHP 15,990 (roughly Rs. 20,100) for the 4GB + 32GB variant. The smartphone is up for pre-orders in the country and is available in Gold and Black colour variants. However, no pricing is announced for the 6GB + 64GB variant which comes in Red colour. The Oppo F5 will make its way to India next month.
