Realme TechLife is now Narzo. What happens to Dizo?

Realme back in 2021 launched its TechLife ecosystem, under which it has launched a number of spin-off brands and products. The TechLife sub-brand was focused on AIoT devices. However, as TechLife announced its first sub-brand called Dizo, it slowly moved away from AIoT products. Now, realising the fact, Realme is running a rebranding campaign changing TechLife to Narzo.

The company has also asked its AIoT followers to follow it on its main Twitter handle, @realmeIndia. This hints that the company going forward would only launch its AIoT products under its main banner.

This leaves the fate of Dizo up in the air, which used to produce wireless earphones and smartwatches. Apart from these, the sub-brands portfolio also included feature phones, hairdryers, and trimmers.

Now with TechLife becoming Narzo, which is a sub-brand that produces smartphones. It will be interesting to see if Dizo is absorbed by Realme or Narzo or it would be left on the side to do its own thing.

Taking a look at Dizo's official website, it continues to showcase "Smart Entertainment," "Smart Home," "Smart Care," and "Accessories" product categories.

In other news, Realme recently started teasing a new Narzo smartphone. However, it has not revealed much about the upcoming smartphone. We do expect the company to divulge more details in the coming days.

Twitter's iconic bird has been replaced by Shiba Inu as a nod to Dogecoin. This change comes just after Elon Musk has requested a dismissal of his $258B Dogecoin lawsuit.

Musk announced the change on Monday afternoon in a tweet, marking an year-old conversation saying that as promised he has changed the logo of the platform. However, we do not know if this change is permanent or temporary.

As a response to the action, the official Dogecoin account tweeted "Very currency. Wow. Much Coin. How Money. So Crypto."

Musk decided to act on the logo change just two days after he requested a judge to throw out a $258 billion racketeering lawsuit accusing him of running a pyramid scheme to support Dogecoin. Musk's lawyers claimed that the lawsuit by Dogecoin investors is a "fanciful work of fiction" over the billionaire's "innocuous and often silly tweets."

Back in December 2013, a pair of software engineers created Dogecoin as a joke. Since then, Dogecoin has managed to become the eighth-most valuable cryptocurrency, with a market cap of over $13 billion, according to CoinMarketCap.com. The name of the cryptocurrency was based on the popular Doge meme from a decade ago.

After Shiba Inu was made the logo for the social media platform, Dogecoin jumped over 20 percent (about $0.09).

Yesterday, we got to see a major stir in the global smartphone market, with reports claiming that Oppo and OnePlus are exiting key European markets. These markets included the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, and France. Both companies have now denied the claims.

They have both issued official statements saying that they are not leaving the markets and are dedicated to serving customers in the European markets.

Oppo in an email sent out to the press stated, "We had a great start in 2023 with the successful launches of several products in Europe and have a line-up of upcoming products for the rest of the year. As always, Oppo will continue to provide more innovative products and the best-in-class service for users moving forward."

While you could call this reading too much into the text, it is worth wondering that Oppo only has mentioned its plans for this year, rather than stating that it has a long-term commitment to Europe. While OnePlus states that it will "continue to invest in Europe and provide more innovative product and solutions." OnePlus specifically mentions product, making us think it will only be launching a single product, but will keep launching new services.

Microsoft has discontinued its introductory Game Pass promotion, where new Game Pass subscribers could get the first month's subscription for just $1 (approximately Rs 82). The Australian version of the service currently displays the price of the standard subscription at AU$ 15.95 (approximately Rs 875) per month.

According to a statement given by Xbox head of global communications Kari Perez to The Verge, "We have stopped our previous introductory offer for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass and are evaluating different marketing promotions for new members in the future."

The $1 trial was introduced in the service's infancy as a promotion to popularise the platform. Since then, Microsoft did not bother to change anything with the offer. After a month, the prices for the Ultimate, Xbox and PC Game Passes would revert to normal.

Microsoft has not yet revealed what would be its new promotion to capture new users. It would be interesting to see what the marketing geniuses at the tech giant cook up this time.

Apart from this, the company might also be looking to increase the price of the service also. Last year, Xbox's Phil Spencer said, "I do think at some point we'll have to raise some prices on certain things." Soon after Spencer made the statement, Microsoft raised its prices on new, first-party games to $70 (approximately Rs 5,765). However, till now, the price for the Game Pass service has held firm.

In other news, Microsoft could soon be looking to introduce a new Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family Plan. Under this new plan, the company will allow its subscribers to share the Game Pass subscription with up to four other friends or family members. It has already begun to test the new tier in multiple countries.

Twitter has announced that it will start removing the legacy verified checkmarks from user accounts from April 1. This move will help it move towards its new model where only paid subscribers and members of approved organisations get the verified checkmark.

This is a change we all saw coming a long time ago with the company's new owner Elon Musk having the stance since the beginning that the existing programme was "corrupt". While Musk has been fickle-minded on other changes that he has announced for the platform, but has remained steadfast on eliminating the old verification system.

Twitter has already made the verification checkmark as a bundle deal with its Twitter Blue paid subscription service, which Musk began priced at $8 (approximately Rs 600) per month. He has claimed that the paid service is the best way to both enjoy and improve the platform. He has also claimed that this will solve the platform's bot problem, as the subscribers will get a higher priority in replies and searches, while at the same time only seeing half of the ads and the ability to edit tweets.

Taking a look at the older system, most of the people who had received the verified badges earlier mostly included public figures and journalists. The older system was used to confirm the authenticity of statements and reports that any of these accounts were tweeting, thus making Twitter a trusted source of news.

Musk's actions like getting rid of the older verification system are being claimed to be an act of his disdain for members of the media. Earlier this month, he had set the auto-respond action for the [email protected] email address to the poop emoji, after ignoring several queries from journalists in the previous months. It will be interesting to see how the media personalities respond to these actions, as they are amongst Twitter's most active users.
