Sony WF-1000XM4 are the company's best truly wireless earphones offering, which go up against Apple's AirPods Pro.
Sony WF-1000XM4 wireless earbuds have finally launched in India, over six months after making their debut in the global market. These are the most premium wireless earbuds that the company makes. The key feature of the device is the brand’s in-house V1 chip. Other features include a better finish, smaller charging case, better audio quality and improved noise cancellation.
Sony WF-1000XM4 is priced at Rs 19,990, just undercutting the AirPods Pro, which is priced at Rs 24,900. The company has revealed that the device will be made available via leading online retail stores and offline stores starting January 16.
Sony WF-1000XM4 come with support for Hi-Res audio over LDAC codec, which is much superior compared to the typical Bluetooth audio. They also come with support for the company's own 360 Reality Audio. The DSEE Extreme feature of the buds can help them rebuild compressed audio to something that is close to Hi-Res in quality using AI.
The buds come with the company's custom V1 chip integrated, which is said to maintain active cancellation of high-end frequencies and cut noise levels up to 40 percent better than the XM3's. The buds are also designed in a way to cut wind noise with the help of a new automatic wind detection feature.
Sony WF-1000XM4 come with 24-bit amps, with 20 percent larger magnets. The setup provides better cancellation signals at lower frequencies and can produce better bass according to the company. They also come with proprietary polyurethane foam tips pre-installed, which aid in passive noise cancellation.
Sony’s “Speak-to-Chat” feature, fast pairing support for Windows/Android, and an IPX4 water resistance rating are some of the additional features that help the Bluetooth earbuds stand out.
Coming to voice calls, the earbuds include a bone-conducting sensor and beam-forming mics to help provide the best sound quality. They also include support for Amazon's Alexa and Google Assistant.
Sony claims that the XM4's can provide a battery life of up to 8 hours with noise cancellation and the case can recharge them up twice. The case supports Qi wireless charging support, and the company claims that a quick 5 minutes charge is enough for 1-hour of playtime.
