Music streaming applications have gained even more popularity since carriers in India have reduced data prices. While a few apps require you to purchase music, others allow you to stream the music for free, with the exception of a few advertisements in between. Apple Music
While the name of the app suggests that it will be available only on iOS, it is even available on Android. It requires you to have an Apple ID in order to use the service. Also, the service is free for the first three months for a new user. After the trial period ends, the user needs to pay Rs. 120 per month for downloads as well as streaming.
Gaana
Gaana app has a huge library of Hindi, English and other songs. It ois free to listen but plays ads between every alternative song. However, you can buy a subscription of just Rs. 99 per month, which will remove any advertisements. Additionally, the subscription will allow you to download songs offline.
Jio Saavn
Saavn is a pretty popular music streaming application, which has recently been taken over by Reliance Jio. As a result, it has been rebranded to JioSaavn. Interestingly, Reliance Jio users can enjoy 90 days of free Saavn Pro benefits.
Spotify
Spotify is another popular music streaming service available in almost 78 countries. Its premium membership is priced at USD 9.99 and it is available on both iOS and Android. However, the app is currently not available in India.

Google Play Music
Google Play Music is a music streaming service by Google, which was initially availabel only on Android. The app is now available on Apple's iOS as well. Apart from online streaming, it also allows you to play offline music available on our smartphone.
Amazon Music
Amazon Music is a part of Amazon's Prime subscription. Amazon Prime also gets you prime delivery on their e-commerce website and access to Amazon Music and Prime Videos. The subscription just costs Rs. 129 per month.
Musixmatch Lyrics
Unlike other applications on this list, this one is not a music streaming service. It is a music player which shows up lyrics of any song that you are playing from the content available on your phone.
Wynk Music
Airtel also has their own music streaming service called, Wynk Music. The premium service of the application comes free for Airtel users who opt for select plans. Others will have to pay a premium of Rs. 119 per month to avoid advertisements.
Sound Cloud
SoundCloud is another application that allows you to listen to free music and podcasts. It is available on both the platforms, iOS and Android.
Hungama Music
Hungama Music is a music streaming application by Hungama Digital Media Entertainment. It is mostly filled with Bollywood songs and you might struggle to find other languages.
