Xiaomi's MIUI is known to be one of the most customisable Android ROMs. The UI brings in tons of exciting features that stock Android just fails to offer. Recently, Google has been reportedly working on a system-wide dark mode for the next version of Android. While Xiaomi doesn't want its users to keep waiting, they are releasing a dark mode for MIUI.
According to a report by FoneArena, Xiaomi is working on a system-wide dark theme for MIUI and it will be made available in the upcoming MIUI 10 update. The feature has already been spotted on MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM. It will soon make its way over to the stable version based on feedback from the beta testers.
FoneArena has also shared a couple of screenshots showing system apps running a dark theme. This will make it easier on the eyes in the dark and users having AMOLED displays can save some battery. As per the screenshots, the changes have been made to MIUI 10 apps like Calculator, Contacts, Gallery, Messaging, Notes, Phone, Screen Recorder and Updater. Apart from the apps, the dark mode also covers the volume controls, notification shade and the Recents panel.

Strangely, the dark mode is currently not working on the Settings app but does darken the submenus in the Settings app. These include App Lock, Data Usage, Dual Apps, Enterprise Mode, Manage Apps, Mi Account, Permissions, Quick Ball, Second Space, and SIM Card settings.
