OnePlus recently sent an Over-The-Air (OTA) update of the OxygenOS 4.5.7 to the OnePlus 5, but just after a few hours without any reason the company rolled back the update. The reason behind the roll back of the update is unknown. However, some sources have claimed that the update surfaced battery issues. The company when taking back the update assured its customers that they are working on a fix and will roll out the update as soon as possible. Today, it seems as is they have fixed the issue as now they have come out with the OxygenOS 4.5.8 update.
The OxygenOS 4.5.7 brought many bug fixes and support for Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) for 4K video recording. All the OnePlus 5 users highly appreciated these bug fixes they were also waiting for a long time to get EIS for 4K video recording. The company claims that the OxygenOS 4.5.8 will fix critical issues like Wi-Fi connectivity and battery issues.
Bug Fixes and New Features
This update will fix the camera shutter bug in silent mode, occasional stutters while playing games, battery drain for Jio users, and occasional sound leaks in the speakers while using earphones. This is a lot of fixes that the users of the device were waiting for.
This update will also include EIS support for 4K video recording along with the new OnePlus slate font. The lack of EIS support left many OnePlus 5 users disappointed.
