BSNL offering free 4G sim and Rs 399 plan for only Rs 100

BSNL is one of the oldest Indian Manufacturers.

Indian Telecom Operator, BSNL launched their Mega offer on the occasion of Diwali to benefit the customers on this auspicious occasion. The BSNL Mega Offer provides the user a free SIM and benefits of the STV399 plan for the cost of Rs.100 only.

However, there is a catch. The offer is available only from CSCs for New and
Port-IN customers on producing BSNL coupon printed on domestic LPG
bills of IOCL/HPCL under GSM prepaid mobile services.

Presently this coupon for the BSNL Mega Offer is currently available in 7 Indian states only. Namely Uttar Pradesh (East & West), Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana,
Rajasthan, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir. This offer is available at all LPG dealers in the states mentioned above.

Benefits of BSNL Mega Offer Plan

The benefits will include all the benefits of the STV399 plans. Which are unlimited voice, data, SMS and Personalized Ring Back Tone. The Personalized Ring Back Tone will feature unlimited song change option. This will be available even during national roaming including Delhi and Mumbai. All of this benefits under the Mega Offer Plan will cost just Rs. 100. Along with all this, users will get 1.35 GB data per day. That makes it a total of approximately 100GB of data for just Rs 100.

The Mega Offer Plan will have a validity of 74 just like the STV399 Plan. It is basically the STV 399 Plan at a discounted rate.

Shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD BSNL said "the Mega offer is a truly
unlimited welcome-gift to new and MNP prepaid customers where @ Rs.
1.35 per day for 74 days."

The offer is great for anyone residing in any of the applicable areas, as there is no other company offering such cheap offers for anyone. Also, the offer is limited to new users only, so keep that in mind.

OnePlus has rolled out the OxygenOS 5.1.6 update for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. The update brings in support for VoLTE for Idea customers. One of the important changes that come with this update is the much-awaited support to Project Treble. Here's what it means for the OnePlus 5/5T users.

What is Project Treble?

Project Treble was introduced by Google in order to shorten the time period between an Android version release and the third-party OEM's pushing the update. The OEMs now do not need to rework on their interface implementation and can directly update the Android framework. This makes the process much easier and allows companies to push out the updates soon enough.

What does it mean for OnePlus 5/5T users?

OnePlus is already quick enough in delivering the Android updates. With the support for Project Treble, the company can be quicker and the users can get the Android update soon after Google releases it. Now, as the Project Treble support is here, the OnePlus 5/5T users can expect the Android 9 Pie update hitting their devices soon.

The smartphone is will first unveil at an event in New York on October 29 followed by a launch event in New Delhi on October 30. Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in India.

Xiaomi is a company that has a unique approach to software on their smartphones. The software update updates the MIUI version bringing new features but not the Android version. However, until now there was no news when their old smartphones will be updating to Android 9.0 Pie or even Android 8.0 Oreo.

According to the roadmap published by the company Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus, and Mi 5X will be the last devices receiving Android 8.0 Oreo before the end of 2018. As for Android 9.0 Pie, the update has already rolled out to the Mi Mix 2S, the Mi 8, and the Mi 8 Explorer Edition. The Mi 8 SE, the Mi 8 Pro, and the Mi Max 3 will get the Android 9.0 Pie update before the end of 2018.

Ericcson 5G — Ericcson and BSNL come together to bring 5G in India

Ericsson and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) have partnered up to bring 5G network in India. The Swedish company has signed an MoU with BSNL and they both will be working together on developing 5G use cases in India. With the help of Ericsson's recently set up 5G Center of Excellence at IIT Delhi, the company will evaluate the benefits of 5G networks in rural areas, healthcare, public safety and much more.

Commenting on the partnership, Shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD BSNL said, “5G and IoT will enable new opportunities and create new ecosystems and through this association with Ericsson, we intend to take the lead in the development of these new technologies. We will test, learn and develop use cases that will help us meet the diverse needs of our customers in the future. 5G will also help create the backbone on which Digital India initiatives will be delivered.”

“We are proud to partner with BSNL to work on use-cases and scenarios for application of 5G technology and how it will help realize the Digital India vision. Ericsson has been a key part of the telecom ecosystem in India for several decades, bringing voice and data services to millions of customers in the country. As networks evolve towards 5G, we have the products and solutions as well as the expertise to help operators evolve seamlessly from 4G to 5G,” said, Nunzio Mirtillo, Head of Market Area, South East Asia, Oceania and India at Ericsson.

Ericsson will be closely working with BSNL and other telecom operators as well as industry and academia to create a 5G ecosystem in India. Notably, Ericcson was the first company to showcase up to 5.7 GBPS 5G speeds in India with an ultra-low latency of less than 3 milliseconds.

The industry is heading extremely fast and partnerships like these are going to help India cope up with such innovations. We are not too far from the day we will start seeing 5G across multiple telecom operators in India. However, this partnership hints towards BSNL being one of the first operators to bring 5G towers. Notably, the company currently has only 3G towers across the country.
