Apple iPhone 8 may start at $1,200: Report

Apple iPhone 8 may be starting from $1,200 (Approximately Rs. 77,446) according to a report by John Gruber a writer and podcaster. If this report is true then the iPhone 8 will cost almost double of the starting iPhone 7, which starts from $650 (Approximately Rs. 41,944). In the report, Gruber has said that the 64GB variant of the iPhone 8 will cost $1,200 and the 256GB variant will be coming in for $1,299.

Apple iPhone 8

There are many rumours regarding the price of the upcoming flagship of Apple to be upwards of $1,000.

$1,500 as a starting price is probably way too high. But I think $1,200 is quite likely as the starting price, with the high-end model at $1,300 or $1,400,

Gruber wrote

We are covering this report, as the source is trustworthy, and has got his Apple stories always right in the past. He claims that due to supply issue the units produced are constrained and there is a high demand, so to not stress themselves out Apple will release the iPhone 8 at a record price.

Apple iPhone 8

It sounds to me like the OLED iPhone is a phone which Apple can’t make 40 million of per quarter, at least not today. And if that’s true, that means it should be more expensive. Not should in any moral sense, but simply because that’s how the principle of supply and demand works. When supply is constrained and demand is high, prices go higher. The higher prices alleviate demand,

Apple iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus

Another report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that Apple is highly likely to introduce the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus priced in the similar range to its predecessors. Both of these smartphones will get minor upgrades.

The iPhone 7S and 7S Plus sound like exactly what you’d expect from an S model year: same form factors as last year, with upgraded components and a new A-series system on a chip. There is no reason to expect these phones to cost less than today’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus do. If Apple were going to sell the fancy new OLED iPhone Deluxe at the same prices as today’s iPhone 7 models, there would be no 7S or 7S Plus — they would just keep the existing 7 and 7 Plus and lower their prices by $100.

He also mentioned in his report that both the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus will sport LCD Panels instead of the OLED panels being rumoured for the iPhone 8. And all of these smartphones will be released by Apple in September.

The phone will run on Google's latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat Android operating system.

LG G6 side

The report claimed that the smartphone will sport a 5.4-inch display, along with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Apple slashes the prices of iPhone, iPad in India after GST

Apple recently has gone ahead and reduced the prices of its iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watch in India. iPhone 7 Plus

The Apple iPhone 7, 32GB variant is now available at Rs.56,200, and the 128GB, the 256GB variants now cost Rs.65,200 and Rs.74,400 respectively. Apple also has reduced the price of the iPhone 7 Plus slashing the rate of the base 32GB variant from Rs.72,000 to Rs.65,200.

The iPhone SE has also gotten a price cut and now the 32GB variant which was previously available for Rs.27,200 will now cost you Rs. 26,000. However, it can't be guaranteed that Apple will assemble all the iPhone SE units in India. Apple also has slashed the prices of the iPhone 6S which can now be purchased at Rs.46,900 compared to the Rs.50,000 price tag it came with before.

India has now become an extremely important market for Apple, as it can be noted that Apple CEO Tim Cook told India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that Apple is positive about the production of the iPhone SE in Bengaluru, India, and they can further see huge growth in the country.

Apple previously this year began initial test production of the iPhone SE in their India facility, along with its App Accelerator program to provide specialised support to app developers.

What is Google Tango and Daydream?

Google has recently launched Daydream in India; previously it launched Tango. Have you ever wondered what they’re all about? Tango is a new technology from Google that enables augmented reality on smartphones. Daydream is Google’s platform for high-quality, mobile virtual reality. Let’s take a closer look at each one.

What is Tango?

Tango is a set of sensors and computer vision software from Google that enable augmented reality applications. This superimposes digital imagery on top of a view of the real world, captured by the device’s camera. The type of images used varies by application, but often enough, they’ll be 3D models that you can physically move around to see from different angles.

Asus Zenfone AR

Tango is a tight partnership between hardware and software. A depth-sensing camera detects nearby objects in real time, so virtual objects can interact with them appropriately. Motion tracking ensures virtual objects shift as you move the phone, giving the illusion that they’re staying in one spot in the real world.

Tango also provides a consistent technology for developers, so augmented reality apps can work across different devices. It also helps apps to be easily discoverable by users. The kinds of experiences you can enjoy here range from exciting new games to home decor utilities, to new kinds of exploration. The possibilities of augmented reality are just beginning to be explored.

What is Daydream?

Daydream is Google’s platform for virtual reality. It consists of Daydream-ready phones, Daydream-ready headsets and controllers, and Daydream apps. Daydream View is the first Daydream-ready headset and controller designed and developed by Google. It also comes with a touch-and-motion enabled controller so you can easily interact with VR apps.

Google Daydream View VR

With the Daydream View, you will be able to explore new worlds through Google Street View and Fantastic Beasts. Kick back in your personal cinema with YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, and HBO. Get in the game with Gunjack 2, LEGO® BrickHeadz, and Need for Speed. That’s just the beginning of the VR possibilities with Daydream.

The end result is a doorway to entirely new worlds that you won’t forget soon.

Google has notably been pushing AR/VR technologies with its latest Android OS. The most prominent introduction, however, has been the ASUS ZenFone AR launch that took place at CES, 2017, earlier this year.

That’s not all, ASUS recently took to its Facebook and Twitter pages to post a teaser video, stating that the world’s first 8GB RAM phone is all set to land in India and we believe that it’s the Zenfone AR which will be in mid of July.
