Musemee Clip In-Depth Review

Everybody who has a tripod at a point has thought about hacks to hold your phone in the tripod. There are many cellphone mount to attach to your tripod in the market but they easily break because of their chucks coming out. Musemee has found the solution to this problem by launching Musemee Clip. Musemee clip is a Elegant Universal Cell Phone Tripod Mount Adapter Holder. Best thing about Musemee Clip is that the chucks are foldable.

Musemee Clip

Design

Musemee Clip is a small elegant looking key chain with a universal cellphone holder and tripod mount. It basically looks like a key chain, a bulky one. On the front there is a Musemee logo with clip written beside it. On the back there is just a Musemee logo. There is a key chain coming out of the side. From the back the chucks can easily be folded out which will be used to hold your phone. The inside of the chucks are padded so that it doesn't damage your phone while holding it. There are rods inside just like a standard Cellphone holder. That rods can easily be pulled out to extend the clip by 86 mm. Extending clip requires almost no force.

Usage

Musemee Clip is basically a Universal Cellphone holder and a tripod stand with a key ring. Its main purpose is to attach to your tripod and hold your phone in place. The padded back of the chucks ensures that your phone doesn't get any harm while using the clip. Foldable chucks help you to easily carry it without breaking the holder. It also has a key chain so that you can attach it to your keys and easily carry it around. The build quality is also pretty great. We dropped the thing a couple of times there it didn't even ended up with a scratch. It also can be used to hold your phone stable if someone tends to use the camera too much in a phone without OIS.

Conclusion

Musemee clip is for someone who always works with camera's and tripods. A Universal cellphone holder with a key chain makes it easier to carry it around and attach it to your tripod whenever you need it. Also it acts as a great holder for holding your phone in hand. Just for $11.99 it's not much of a mind blowing deal but is a great product. If you travel much with your tripod its a great deal for you.

Asus Zenfone 3s Max In-Depth Review

Asus recently launched the Zenfone 3 Max with a 4100 mAh battery which lasted more than 2 days. Who dosen't like more battery? Asus heard people's demands once again and launched another variant in the Zenfone Max series, the Zenfone 3s Max. It is basically an updated version of the Zenfone 3 max with a bigger battery and a nicer design.

Zenfone 3s Max (ZC521TL)

Zenfone 3 Max is a great device with a long lasting battery and good performance, but was a bit heavy. The Zenfone 3s Max comes with a bigger battery and a more clean design. It looks a little better than the Zenfone 3 Max and the design language has changed from the Zenfone 3 series. The Zenfone 3 Max has the similar design to the Zenfone 3 series, but the Zenfone 3s Max has an updated design.

Zenfone 3s Max

Design

With a contoured 2.5D curved gorilla glass and a all metal body, the device feels premium with offering a great protection at the same time. The device measures ()x()x8.85mm and weighs 175 grams. The Zenfone 3s Max has a 5.2-inch display and a 75% screen:body ratio which feels comfortable in hand.

On the front of the phone there is the usual, speaker grill with front facing camera on the front and proximity and other sensors on the left. Surprising "ASUS" branding on the front below the speaker grill. Below there is fingerprint sensor.

On the back there is "ASUS" branding in the middle with a horizontal band running towards the bottom. The camera console has been shifted to the top left. There is no laser autofocus like the Zenfone 3 Max. Rest there is a dual tone flash and a secondary microphone with the camera module.

On the right there are the usual volume rockers and the power key. The power key has been given a different texture to differentiate it from the volume rockers when in the pocket. There is just the hybrid sim card tray on the left. On the top there is a headphone jack now the antenna bands has been shifted to the top. A Micro-usb port for charge and power constitutes the bottom along with the secondary microphone and the speakers.

With the front facing fingerprint sensor and top antenna bands the overall design looks more cleaner. The device is very light compared to is predecessor and packs a bigger battery than the its predecessor. Interesting enough, the fingerprint sensor is clickable and acts has a home button and there is no other physical buttons.

Software

The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with Zen-UI 3.0 skin on the top. The software is less bloated compared to their Zen-UI 2.0 which is to great. The device has cold screen access, with double tap to wake and much more. There is also flip to silence and app lock built right in the core. The Nougat has a better battery management which helps the Zenfone 3s Max. Also Asus's power management combined with the the inbuilt one bumps the battery management to a whole new level. One of the hidden features of the device is the Zenfit app. It uses the phone's camera and flash module to accurately measure one's heartbeat. We used the Mi Band 2 to verify the result which were fairly accurate. The device comes with on screen buttons. On a personal note, physical buttons are better but then it's just personal opinion.

Performance

The performance is what most of the people look after in a phone. Well a device with a 5000mAh battery isn't expected to perform great. To our surprise the device pretty well. With a MediaTek processor the device performs really well for its price. The Zenfone 3s Max comes with a MediaTek MT 6750 coupled with Mali-T860 and 3GB RAM. We were able to perform everyday tasks and a bit of heavy gaming and the device didn't lagged a bit.

We performed our usual AnTuTu benchmark tests and the results and device yielded a result of 39,581. It was a little less than the Zenfone 3 Max but then also with a bigger battery and a lighter device here are compromises needed to be made.

We also ran our favorite Asphalt 8 and the performance was brilliant. Lag free performance with a huge battery. Ideal for casual mobile gamers. Also the display on the device is also amazing for gaming which we will cover later on.

The fingerprint sensor is quite fast and can store up to 5 fingerprints at a time. The fingerprint sensor however is not active, therefore screen needs to be turned on for it to read. Also the fingerprint sensor is clickable so as to click the button which reads the fingerprint at the same time and takes you directly to home screen. On a personal note, the forward facing fingerprint sensor is better than the back facing fingerprint sensor. It just looks so much more beautiful. Utilitywise, the back facing fingerprint sensor is good due to it's perfect placement. in the end it depends on the user's preference.

Display

Zenfone 3s Max Display

The device has a amazing 5.2 inch (1080x1920) display. The display as we mentioned earlier is just amazing. The colors are so bright and accurate. The display overall has a good brightness level. Sunlight readability was beyond expected. The viewing angles are beyond expected. This makes Zenfone 3s Max really good for gaming and watching videos and movies. There is Asus's usual glove mode which enables one to use the device with a glove. That a standard in Asus phones. Can definitely say the display is way better on the Zenfone 3s Max than its predecessor.

Camera

Zenfone 3s Max Camera

The Zenfone 3s Max has a 13MP f/2.0 primary camera, and 8.0MP f/2.0 secondary camera. The camera app is easy to use had has 12 pixel master modes. Users can choose between Manual, HDR Pro, Beautification, Super Resolution, Low-light, QR Code, Night, Depth of the field, Effect, Selfie, GIF animation, Panorama, Miniature, Time rewind, Slow motion, or Time Lapse modes. All of these modes are available on other Zenfone 3 series devices also.

The close up shots were pretty amazing with the back camera being equivalently good. The absence of a laser auto focus made focusing images a bit of a time consuming task, but the auto-focus didn't suffered in terms of quality due to that. The front camera is also upto the mark. The modes like beautification is definitely something a selfie lover will look out for.

The low light mode buffs up the color but at the same time decreases the resolution. The camera was pretty much same as the Zenfone 3 Max with minor technology changes.

Connectivity, Storage And Battery Life

The device comes with standard connectivity module, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and GLONASS. The Zenfone 3s max also supports 4G VoLTE and USB OTG. The OTG cable didn't come with the box which was disappointing. The Zenfone 3s Max like the other Zenfone Max series has the ability to charge other devices. To do the same connect your phone to the Zenfone 3s Max using the OTG cable and the Zenfone 3s Max is charging your under battery phone.

The 5000 mAh battery lasted around 2 days in heavy usage, gaming with full brightness and much more. On a average usage the device lasted around 3 days. The device is told to last around 34 days on 4G standby. Couldn't really test that but judging with the battery performance, it might be true. A fast charger is provided with the device to boost up the charging of the massive battery.

Zenfone 3s Max Battery

The Zenfone 3s Max has a Android 7.0 Nougat battery management along with Asus battery management software which takes the battery management game to the next level. The battery operating modes like Performance, Normal, Power Saving and Super Saving which can help one manage the battery consumption based on the usage.

The Zen earbuds provided are truly good. The speaker  though looks like is a stereo setup but it is not. The speakers were loud enough, louder than its predecessors. Outdoor mode boosted the audio a bit but with that loud amount of volume, outdoor mode isn't needed.

Conclusion

The Zenfone 3s Max certainly is a attractive device both aesthetic wise and also performance wise. The 5000 mAh battery is overwhelming. Who said unlimited power isn't possible. They outdid themselves with the Zenfone 3s Max. The device is available both online and offline with a price of Rs.14,999. The Zenfone 3s Max is ideal for someone who doesn't like carrying a power bank wherever they travel. So if you are one of those people we would definitely recommend buying this device.

5 Safety Devices For Women Traveling

5 Safety Devices For Women Traveling

Safety Devices For Women Traveling

It’s the start of a new year, and that means that many of us (14 percent of us, according to Nielsen) are making plans to travel in 2017. Visiting new places and experiencing new cultures has long been an item on bucket lists the world over, but the modern era has seen a shift in how - and with whom - we see the world. In fact, the New York Times reported that 2015 saw nearly a quarter of international travelers flying solo and sightseeing on their own.

Solo travel can be a very fulfilling experience. You can see the things you want to - on your own schedule, too. You can make new, international friends or dedicate your time to quiet self-reflection. However, solo travel can also be risky. This is particularly true for women, who may feel vulnerable to predatory behavior on their own in a new place.

So how can a woman reap the benefits of solo travel in 2017 while still maintaining her peace of mind? Here are a few safety tips and devices any woman should include in her travel essentials:

Self-Defense Lessons

Before you set out on your trip, be sure that you know how to stay safe - and, if necessary, fight someone off. Whether you are traveling across the country or around the world, a woman should always be prepared to defend herself from an attacker.

As Tech Republic points out, the need to protect yourself is even greater when you are traveling alone, which is why self-defense classes or instructional fighting DVDs should be part of your travel preparations. Brush up on some key defensive maneuvers in the weeks before your trip; even if you never use them, you’ll feel more secure as you travel in an unfamiliar place.

Stun Guns

Everyone has different preferences when it comes to personal safety. Let’s say, for example, that fighting simply isn’t your style. That’s fine, and hopefully, you’ll never be faced with that “fight or flight” scenario. However, you should still take steps to protect yourself from potential danger, even if that means using 3 million volts.

Stun Gun

Many women consider stun guns an essential item to keep on their person, both at home and while traveling. With discreet options, like lipstick stun guns or cell phone stun guns on the market, you can feel safe and protected while the people around you are none the wiser. However, if you’re flying, be sure you check your stun gun as these devices are not allowed in carry-on luggage!

Pepper Spray

Pepper spray is another self-defense item that many women keep handy in their day-to-day lives. Many sprays have an average range of up to 20 feet, which makes them great for keeping would-be assailants far from you. The market for mace is vast and varied, too; you can find intimidating gun-shaped spray bottles, discreet keychains, or even a bedazzled bottle in the color of your choice.

Of course, using pepper spray effectively does require a decent aim, so be sure to test your spray (with a practice cartridge!) before you travel. Additionally, this is another item that cannot travel in the airplane cabin with you.

Dog Repellent

Until now we’ve been discussing technology that can keep you safe in an unsavory encounter with another human. But what can you do when a wild or aggressive animal is in your path? There are many devices, such as dog repellents or bear pepper spray, that you can use to escape a scary situation with an animal.

Dog Repellent

Typically, these devices involve high pitched noises, strobe lights, or a milder form of your standard pepper spray. While they may temporarily disorient an animal, it will not cause serious harm - making it a humane option that even animal lovers can get behind.

Siren or Alarm Apps

The odds of someone traveling without their phone are pretty low these days. This is why sites like Solo Traveler suggest downloading an app or two that can help you in unsafe situations. One example is the SOS Whistle app, which emits a loud whistling sound and can help alert passersby if you are hurt, lost, or in any other sort of danger.

With these devices in your luggage, you can feel confident that you will be totally safe when you travel - whether you are with your family, friends, or flying solo.

Xiaomi Mi Band 2 In-Depth Review

Xiaomi launched another fitness tracker the Mi band 2 few months ago. It was an improvement to their Mi Band 1s with a added display and a rather more appealing design. The Mi band 1s was great but it was missing a crucial feature, the display. In addition to checking our steps, calories burned and heart rate directly from the band it added the functionality of serving as a caller id and notification center.

Design

Mi Band 2 Band

The Mi band 2 like its predecessors is composes of the same two components, the band and the capsule. First of all the Band has got a rubber finish and feels really good in hand. On prolonged usage one doesn't feel uncomfortable wearing it.  It is available in many colors including Black, Red and Cyan.

The capsule like the earlier Mi bands has a cylindrical design. It has almost the same aesthetic like the Mi Band 1 and 1s. With glass and a display on the front it the Mi band 2 certainly looks better than its predecessors. Mi Band 2 has a big circular button that lets you check the time, steps taken and various other things. The display is bright enough to  view inside a room however we had little problems using in bright sunlight. The bottom on the Mi Band 2 has a proximity and a heart rate sensor. The heart rate sensor is bulged out a little bit and as a result leaves a mark on the skin when wearing it too tight. You cannot get a accurate reading unless the sensor is pressed snugly to your skin. Consequently it leaves a mark on prolonged usage.

Features

The Mi Band 2 easily pairs up with your device using Bluetooth 4.0. You can view your steps walked, heart rate and various other things via the display on the band or using the Mi Fit app. The Mi fit app is available on iOS as well as as Android. You can set your daily goals, alarms and much more using the app. In addition to step tracking the Mi Band 2 can also track sleep in a very efficient way. With a combination of proximity sensor, heart rate sensor and movement tracking, it provides almost accurate sleep duration. Apart from the regular fitness tracking it also serves as a beeper for your social media notifications.

Performance

For the duration of this review, we compared the data from the Mi Band 2 with the inbuilt step tracker on the iPhone 5s. On a average Mi Band 2 shows around 100-200 steps more than what is recorded via the iPhone's inbuilt sensor. This include times when our phone is left on the table and we still are wearing the band. The deviation is very less compared to what is seen on the other bands.

The sleep tracking works like a charm. The sleep duration times were almost accurate with a variation of 10-15 minutes. The heart rate sensor and sleep tracking are few of the less needed options. With today's evolving times it seems like these features are coming more and more in use. For those who are interested, they work as good as they are advertised.

Mi Band 2

One of the most noteworthy things in the Mi Band 2 is the ability to act as a social beeper. If you want a band to alert you for notifications you receive in your phone then Mi band 2 is just the thing for you. Notification of text messages, calls and other app notifications like instagram is well implemented by a vibration on the band and a display of the app sending notification on the band's display. You can also set alarms and inactivity notifications also. Silent alarms are just great. When you don't want everyone in the house to wake up as a result of your loud alarm, then silent alarms are your thing. The Mi Band 2 can also notify when you are inactive for a specific amount of time set manually through the app.

The Mi Band 2's battery life is exceptional. Even after 6 days of usage the battery dropped only 20 percent.

Conclusion

The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is a reliable activity tracker with a heart rate sensor. Available for ₹1,999 its is definitely worth the price. The only problem is the charger. It's a unique proprietary charger and hence will create a lot of fuss if it gets misplaced. If you need a a good and cheap activity tracker we would definitely recommend the Mi Band 2.

Brainwavz M3: Extensive review

Brainwavz M3: Premium Noise Cancelling Earphones on A Budget

Right off the bat, I will say buying the Brainwavz M3, you are basically going for a quality studio earphones. The sound is loud and just plain brilliant, at no levels did I experienced any breaking of sound or stuttering, the clarity is beyond perfect and nothing like what you expect from an earphone, but nothing in this word is perfect, similar is the case of the Brainwavz M3.

Brainwavz M3

Overview

Brainwavz has focused on producing a pair of perfect studio earphones where they have done a brilliant job. The Brainwavz M3 has exceptional balance across the lows, mids, and highs. Which provide spot on acoustical reproduction, crisp and clear vocals. But, and a very significant but is that these earphones lack in the Raw bass department. If there is a real drop or base in the song that you are enjoying, you will be impressed throughout the song but the lack of bass just make you feel robbed of the ability or the quality of a song.

Note, I am absolutely not saying this is the earphone’s fault but they work so flawlessly throughout the song handling lows, mids, and highs like a glove. Expectation rises to a new level when you are listening through the Brainwavz M3, and the expectation should be high when you are paying a premium price for a set of premium earphones.

Brainwavz M3

But never have I ever heard any studio headphone/earphones that really do justice to the bass of any soundtrack. If you focus on bass characteristics of any sound you really have to compromise on the sound front. If they would have focused on the bass too much the resultant would be average sounding earphones. All in all the bass is well – weighted and full – bodied, and remains under control and never takes over other features.

Build

The build quality is excellent and the shape is helpful in making the earphone to be placed just right in your ear canal. Nor is it loosely swinging, nor is it hurting the ears, long usage is comfortable overall. You get 3 regular pairs of silicone ear tips. A pair of Bi - Flange silicone ear tips (irritating after a while) and also you get 1 pair of Comply Foam tips. These foam tips are the best attachment for your earphones, which makes the experience just satisfying.

Brainwavz M3

Sound

Earphones are powered by dynamic 10.7 mm drivers, which have impedance rated at 20 ohms. Frequency ranges from 20Hz - 20kHz. The sensitivity is 115dB at 1mW, with the rated input power of 10mW. All of these technical features add to give great sound output. The sound is flat, in a good way as no one features tries to overshadow others. Everything works like a well-synchronized system.

PROS

  • Great lows, mids, and highs
  • Loud sound with no breaking
  • Anti - tangle cable
  • Fantastic noise cancellation

CONS

  • Bass is on the lower side of my liking
  • No hands-free feature
  • Build quality and finishing could have been a tad better

Verdict

The sound is loud and just plain brilliant, at no levels did I experienced any breaking of sound or stuttering, the clarity is beyond perfect and nothing like what you expect from an earphone, but nothing in this word is perfect, similar is the case of the Brainwavz M3. But if you love listening to music and want the perfect earphones these are for you.

Honor 6X In-Depth Review

Huawei sub brand Honor is going to launch the Honor 6X in India on the 26th of January. And, here we have the full In-Depth review for you, so that you can decide if you should buy it or just let it be.

Honor 6X

Honor 6X

The Honor 6X will receive a lot of good press as Honor has given away a lot of swag including free exotic trips, The 6X, etc. to the media so that they receive very good reviews but to be honest it is just a one gimmick smartphone which is its dual camera.there are two versions of the 6X: one with 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM, and one with 32GB and 3GB. And here we have the full review of the smartphone for you and this will help you make the decision if the Honor 6X is worth your hard earned money or not.

Design

The Honor 6X is not much on the looks, we feel they should have given a full aluminium body. Though the weight and size of the smartphone is easily manageable. 4 colors are offered which are metallic grey, silver, blue, and gold namely.

honor 6X

The Honor 6X has a 5.5" screen upfront, a 3.5mm headphone jack on top, power key and volume rocker on the right, also on top you will find the dual hybrid SIM tray, on the back you find the dual camera setup with the fingerprint sensor, and on the bottom you find the speaker grill, microphone and the micro-usb port.

The bezel is a lot on the phone and to be frank could be lower, though the speakers are bottom firing they are terrible and crack when you hear at loud volumes.

Camera

Camera is the only high point of the Honor 6X, both the front and back cameras are great. The front camera is an 8MP shooter with beautification feature. The primary camera is a 12MP and a 2MP dual camera setup where the 2MP is a black and white camera. Also with a dual camera you can adjust the depth of feel.

Dual Camera phones have become a force of nature these days as each and every phone is coming out with these. And, this is one of the better ones, as Huawei has been one of the better dual camera smartphone manufacturer and they are bringing this technology here also.

Honor 6X

Software

The Honor 6X is a good phone with great battery, but the Emotion UI or the EMUI 4.1 is as bad as it could ever be, with bad software design and loads of bloatware. Simply i cannot stand the Honor skin and have to change it as soon as possible with the google launcher. Moreover the 6X doesn't ship with pre-loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat which is a big disappointment. But, they have promised an update through OTA in the coming months.

Battery

Honor 6X comes with a 3340mAh battery which performs really good, and lives up to the Honor brand name. 6X is one of the better smartphones for battery, as it is very well optimized and gives 1 full day of heavy usage which is very impressive.

The Honor 6X with a battery life of 1 day on heavy usage, and charges really fast with fast charging available on the phone. Though the charger included is said to be a fast charger but is not one, and we would suggest you get a proper one from some other brand to actually use the fast charging capabilities of the phone.

Pricing

Honor 6X price

The Honor 6X 3GB RAM/ 32GB Storage priced at ₹12,999 and the Honor 6X 4GB RAM/ 64GB Storage priced at ₹15,999 in India will be available through flash sales available from 2nd Feb, 2017.

Pros

  • Great Camera Setup
  • Good Battery Life
  • Great Price

Cons

  • Very Disappointing Display
  • No Android 7.0 out of the box
  • Really Bad Skin
  • Not full metal body

Verdict

Honor has created a good smartphone at a low price point. But, we feel that they could have provided more in the price point. And you will see good reviews of the Honor 6X due to them taking the press to exotic destinations and giving out free swag like phones, etc. but to tell you the truth the phone is nothing in comparison to other options available in the market, and you can buy a much better smartphone at this price. The Honor 6X is just a one gimmick phone which is its dual camera.

Evidson AudioWear R5 the earphones to get under 1k

Evidson AudioWear R5 - Top Tier Earphones on a Budget

The Evidson audiowear R5 are a pair of genuinely good looking in-ear style earphones that sound great and fit in the budget segment. The Evidson Audiowear R5 are competing with sennheiser and other well known brands. And for what it's worth we feel that the Indian made earphones are winning the fight against its international competitors.

Evidson R5

Design

The Evidson AudioWear R5 looks very well built with the flat cable, metal body, and nicely designed in-line controls. The earphones while being used do not get in the way and also makes you look good.

The earphones are really small in size and can be rolled up and put away to the side while not taking up too much space which we feel is a good thing. The flat cable that is being utilized in these make the earphones look good and also makes them tangle free which is a god's blessing. The long cable helps you move around freely while the earphones are being used.

Evidson R5 in-line controls

The R5 also has in-line microphone and controls, which is designed very nicely and feels premium. Though while using the microphone it does pick up a bit of the background noise. The controls though feel premium to use and get the job done as directed.

Review

The Evidson Audiowear R5 is an addition to the sub 1k market of earphones which sells the most in India due to being affordable to all. And what gives Evidson a slight advantage is that the company is based in India and makes all of their products in house.

The Evidson Audiowear R5 is a good looking pair of headphones, And it also has great performance. The earphones deliver crisp and clear sound, as with these you can tell the difference between highs, mids and lows very clearly. The R5 held their own when different kinds of music with different volumes were played and they fared quite well as to our surprise.

While the bass was there and good enough for an avid listener we were left desiring for more, and so will other bass heads also. We tested it with multiple people in our office and 2 out of 5 people wanted more of a thump while listening to music. So to summarize the earphones delivered a pleasurable experience.

Pros

  • Great Build Quality
  • Budget Earphones
  • In-Ear
  • Great Built-in Controls
  • Amazing Sound Quality

Cons

  • Bass leaves us desiring for more
  • After a few hours of listening they become uncomfortable

Verdict

The Evidson Audiowear R5 has very impressive looks and these kinds of looks are not easy to find in the Under 1k budget line. But leaving the looks aside they sound great, the bass left us wanting more out of these maybe the next versions will have much more punch packing in them.

Great Performance, comfortable fit and a robust build what else do you want from the Evidson Audiowear R5.
