Meru’s entire range of taxi services will now be accessible to users via Facebook Messenger and will allow them book cabs, by just typing in some keywords and sharing their location, An chatbot will and converse with you in question- answer format through the service called Meru Bot. With this new development Meru Cabs becomes the first cab services provider in the world to go live with implementing Facebook’s Bot services.
Meru aims to widen their customer base by providing convenient and seamless cab booking access to its users.
Facebook users can simply search “Meru Cabs” on Facebook Messenger under ‘Bots and Business’ section and begin interaction. After the initial mobile number verification (one time), the user starts a normal chat with Meru Messenger Bot to book a cab. Once the location is shared on the chat box, the user is then directed to choosing sedan (Meru) or hatchback (Meru Genie) cab available for the trip with the ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival). Once confirmed, the Meru Messenger Bot responds on real time basis with the cab details along with the chauffeur’s mobile number. The bot enables the user locate his/her cab & check the fare details.

We were astonished when we received the phone it was on for more than 10 days and had a lot of battery left and with that Asus also guarantees 38 days of standby and up to 3 days of normal usage. Design
The Design is the same as the previous Zenfone Max and that is not a bad thing as as the leather textured back gives it a premium feel and the side frill though made from plastic gives a look of being made from metal and all this makes the phone appear much more highly priced than it actually is.
Power Bank
The device also comes in bundled with a Usb OTG Cable. We know that the OTG Cable is for charging other devices via the battery of the Zenfone Max, which is a very nifty feature. So, what Asus says the New Zenfone Max has so much battery that it can even full charge another device.
There is a power bank mode in the New Zenfone Max where the Zenfone turns off and goes into charging mode where it provides a charge of 1.5 Amp. for other devices to charge off of it.

The Battery of the Asus Zenfone Max was the main attraction of the previous generation of the Zenfone Max but now we feel that it has been much more fine tuned and compiled with the Asus Power Saver App we feel the battery is having a bit more punch than the previous generation with all the fine tuning done to the software.
We used it with heavy apps and consistently had the phone on work but it still gave us from 2 days of battery life. Though when used without putting too much pressure on the phone we easily got 5 days of battery life and before charging the device it still had some juice left in it.
The stock charger took from about 4.5 - 5 hours for charging the device from 0-100%, so just leave it on charge for the night. It also supports fast charging so, you can charge it with a fast charger and get better results.
So, basically the battery is unparalleled to in the market at the moment and a lot has been said about it, so if you are the type of the person who runs out of phone battery too soon this phone is for you.
Performance
The New Asus ZenFone Max is a great phone and consists of at least so much of power that even a power user can also do day-to-day functions very easily. The 2GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 615 SoC keeps the device running very smoothly. The interface runs flawlessly, and apps and games load and run without any trouble. We tested game performance with the game Injustice and oh my god it was such a smooth gameplay there was heavy battery drain, but with a 5,000 mAh battery it did not matter.

We already knew with the battery so big what we were getting into but it still stunned us as the battery is very powerful as it gave us around 2 days worth of usage from 1 single charge that to with very heavy multi-tasking and game play. The Max also performed well in terms of call quality, signal strength but, the sound performance from the speaker was on the lower side and we think that it could have been better.
Software
The Asus Zenfone Max comes with Android 6.0 out of the box with the ZenUI skin on it, The ZenUi has not changed much since the Zenfone 2, the software look is great but the bloatware isn't though you can uninstall it, it still feels like a chore that could have been avoided. Still missing is the fact that Asus is still using a Flashlight app rather than how android provides a widget in the top bar, we also see some apps like the Laser Ruler which let’s you measure the distance from your subject to be a good addition.
Camera
The Asus Zenfone Max comes with a 13MP Primary Camera and a 5MP secondary camera. The Primary Camera takes amazing photos, and after trying out the camera we found out that Asus has made the night mode shots much better as now we would get amazing shots in the dark also which was a little iffy in the previous Zenfones.
The camera comes with all the things that the Zenfones have ever had like laser auto focus, manual shooting modes, super resolution, etc.. When paired with the The ZenFlash and the LolliFlash from Asus the camera gave us amazing shots, like the shots.

What is the Misfit Shine?
The Misfit Shine enters a rather crowded fitness tracking market with a selling point that will stand it apart from the competition – it’s fully waterproof. It’s also an attractive all-metal disc that can be worn anywhere on your body using a dinky little magnetic strip that holds the Misfit Shine in place.
It was launched as an IndieGoGo campaign and achieved its $100,000 project goal 9 ½ hours after it launched. At close, the Misfit Shine had raised its goal eight and a half times over, which just goes to show how interesting the device is.
But can the £99 fitness tracker stand out against its popular rivals?
Misfit Shine – Design and Features
One of the most striking things about the Misfit Shine is its design. Made from aerospace grade aluminium with a distinct groove running around the middle for using the Misfit Shine’s various accessories, it is small, light and compact. Misfit’s choice of material means the Shine only weighs 9g on its own, or 16g with the included wrist strap.
The company, Misfit Wearables, is co-founded by former Apple CEO John Sculley, and there is definitely a touch of Apple in the design of the Shine, especially its simplicity and clean lines.
Misfit has made sure the Shine can be worn anywhere on the body, and even supplies both the sports band and clasp as standard with the Misfit Shine. The clasp is a rubber loop with a magnet on one end that folds over to couple with the back of the Shine. You can attach this to any item of clothing, even a swimsuit or shorts as it is completely waterproof to 50 metres. This is also pretty handy if you forget to remove it from your clothes and it happens to take a washing machine trip.
The sportsband is a rubber watch strap that the Misfit Shine simply pops into and is designed to look much more like jewellery than your average fitness tracker, which is one of its key benefits. There’s also a leather strap and a necklace option to purchase separately if you feel the need.
Its waterproof nature and the fact it is so very light means you can pretty much forget about the Misfit Shine when you’re wearing it, especially when it’s strapped to your wrist.
However, it is useful to remember, any fitness tracker worn on your wrist isn’t going to be as accurate as one worn on your clothing as you tend to move your arms more than any other limbs, or you could stop moving them altogether, such as when you’re gripping a bag strap – both of which can cause inaccurate results. This is why Misfit includes the clasp for attaching the Shine to your clothing, which is especially useful when at the gym.
When in sleep mode, the Misfit Shine looks like it has no display at all, but with a double tap on its face you’ll be presented with a ring of LED lights around the edge, which are used to indicate your current goal progress and the time.
Each LED light is an interval of five minutes or 5 per cent completion of your customised goal. It can be a little difficult at first to work out what time it is (the hour is a solid LED but the minute indicator flashes), but you soon get used to it. Your goal progress is shown in a ring that runs clockwise with your sporting activity until the whole ring of lights is completed, which is a simple but effective way to keep tabs on it without having to look at the app.
On the rear of the Misfit Shine is a handy 12 logo, to show you which way up the fitness tracker should be placed in your watch strap for accurate clock readings.
The Misfit Shine connects to the Shine app for iOS devices via Bluetooth 4.0 LE, which doesn’t require pairing. Misfit assures us there’s an Android app coming “in the next few weeks”, but there hasn’t been any joy there as yet.
Bluetooth LE keeps the power consumption low and combined with the fact the Misfit Shine uses a standard cell watch battery with a battery life of at least 4 months, you’ll be using it for ages without having to charge it or replace the battery.
There are some features that are lacking in the Misfit Shine, like an altimeter to count the number of stairs you climb, which features in upcoming trackers like the Fitbit Force.
Misfit Shine – Tracking and Apps
The Shine app is a very simple but effective way of monitoring your daily fitness activity. Periods of activity are shown in colour coded panels that show the type of sport you are doing and low, medium and energetic patches of activity.
There’s a highlights panel that offers you a look at your daily milestones, broken down into a handy activity chart and the aforementioned coloured blocks. You can also take a look at a weekly overview of your activity, which also compares your achievements to the previous weeks.
Overall, the Misfit Shine is very accurate and can tell when you are performing any of its recognised activities – walking, running, cycling or swimming. It does tend to be far more precise when worn on your clothes, as when on your wrist it can suggest you were more active than you actually were – but that sometimes isn’t a bad thing.
Within the app you can not only personalise your activity goal, but also let it know where you’re wearing the Misfit Shine for more precise data gathering and whether you want the fitness tracker to display the clock or progression lights first.
You can also utilise the Misfit Labs Activity Tagging. This allows you to triple tap the Misfit Shine to tell it you are doing a specific activity for more accurate readings. Although this feature is still in Beta, you can use it to tell the Shine when you’re sleeping, cycling, swimming, playing tennis, basketball or football and the results are far more accurate – if you remember to triple tap before you start doing them.
The Shine app also presents information on the amount of steps you’ve taken, calories burnt and distance covered in a single day or whole week.
What is disappointing about the Misift Shine is its sleep monitoring functionality. Unless you tell it you’re going to sleep using the Activity Tagging it won’t monitor your sleep pattern whatsoever. We always forgot to triple tap before we fell asleep so we’d wake up with no data for our slumber.
When you do remember, it lets you know how many hours of deep sleep you’ve managed to get in between patches of tossing and turning. How accurate this data actually is is very hard to calculate, but they are interesting statistics to peruse in the morning.
As the Misfit Shine uses Bluetooth LE you won’t need to pair it with your smartphone or tablet. When you enter the app, the data automatically updates and fills in all the fitness tracking information since you last logged in. it doesn’t matter whether that’s a week or 5 minutes ago, it is all updated regardless.
It is very speedy to update, which is a bonus. We will say the data provided is a bit limited, but that’s pretty standard for what is basically a glorified pedometer like its competition. The app is laid out in a straightforward and accessible way and unless you’re a proper fitness freak it is more than sufficient for those looking to monitor their activity.
Should I buy the Misfit Shine?
The Misfit Shine is a great activity tracker but is a little more expensive than some of its competitors and currently has limited smartphone and tablet compatibility if you don’t have an iPhone or iPad. It’s still a strong contender, but you might still want to consider some of the alternatives.
At £79.99, the Fitbit Flex is another successful fitness tracker that offers a great app, a 4 – 5 day battery life and is water resistant if not entirely waterproof. It is a bit basic though and lacks a full display, altimeter and can’t even tell the time by itself. It works with (select) Android devices as well as iOS though.
At the top end of the price bracket is the £129.99 Nike Fuelband SE that is specifically optimised for Apple’s device range. It uses Bluetooth LE and is now water resistant and more flexible for a more rugged device. It can offer a lot more information on your wrist than the Misfit Shine, but still lacks an altimeter.
The Jawbone UP works with iOS and Android devices and is the same price as the Misfit Shine at £99. It offers detailed feedback via an app and has a vibrating alarm function alongside sleep monitoring. You can even take pictures of your meal to convert it into calories with the Jawbone UP.

Micromax Canvas Tab P701 4G Tablet Launched at Rs. 7,250

Micromax on Monday expanded its 4G tablet portfolio with the launch of the Canvas Tab P701. Priced at Rs. 7,250, the new Micromax Canvas Tab P701 tablet will be exclusively available via Flipkart. The domestic manufacturer in March had recently launched the Canvas Tab P702 featuring 4G connectivity priced at Rs. 7,999.
Similar to Canvas Tab P702, the dual-SIM supporting Micromax Canvas Tab P701 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box and features a 7-inch (1024×600 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor, clocked at 1GHz, clubbed with 1GB of RAM.
The tablet packs 8GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card (up to 32GB). In the camera department, the Canvas Tab P701 sports a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
On the connectivity front, the Canvas Tab P701 supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB connectivity. The Flipkart listing confirms that the tablet can support 4G on one SIM while another slot can support 3G at one time. The online listing also reveals that the tablet supports voice calling.
Available on Flipkart in Blue and Grey, the tablet packs a 3500mAh battery rated to deliver up to 15 hours of talk time and up to 4.5 hours of browsing time. Much like the Canvas Tab P701, the new Canvas Tab P702 also comes preloaded with 7 Kindle e-books worth Rs. 1,500 for free.

To design for a world where the demand for sophisticated and integrative devices is rapidly increasing, ZTE Mobile Devices has partnered with Designworks, a subsidiary of BMW Group. This partnership resulted in the flawless fusion where aesthetics meets functionality.
With a focus to enhance the human aspects of the user interaction with AXON, a highly intuitive user experience was offered. Design works optimized the authentication process on the AXON 7, where it is more intuitive and easy. Users simply need to tap an index finger on the back of the phone where the user’s index finger naturally grips it. The AXON 7’s fingerprint placement minimizes the risk of dropping the smartphone and that of smudging the camera during intuitive use.

Power of Sound from Within
In order to create the ultimate audio experience for the AXON 7, ZTE invited a team of music conservatory professors to provide the company with counsel. In audio technology, the AXON 7 incorporates dual-speaker, Hi-Fi quality sound coming from two dedicated audio chips AK4961 and AK4490 from AKM, Dolby Atmos surround sound, as well as top of the line configuration to enable exceptional sound quality experiences. This results in resonating vocals and clearly spoken automated voices, such as in maps navigation. Therefore, the AXON 7 sports leading audio not just for playback but for recording, too, and it is able to clearly pickup voices up to eight meters from the device.
Camera function comparable to a Single-lens reflex camera
A smartphone with the ability to take high quality photographs is one of the key features that users are asking for and the AXON 7 fulfils that need. With a camera function that is similar to a SLR professional-quality camera, ZTE achieved fast and accurate photography by reducing visual noise that normally impedes photos taken from a smartphone. Its 20-megapixel rear camera uses dual image stabilization technology, advanced auto focus, exposure, scene selection and white balance to automatically detect ambient light changes. The combination of these technologies enable users to take great photographs effortlessly.
