Sony Corporation is pulling the plug on the Sony Playstation Portable a.k.a. the Sony PSP after 10 years of it's existence. The classic gaming machine was replaced by the Sony Playstation Vita, it's successor 2 years ago, but the markets have not fared nicely in terms for the psp, therefore giving the company the plug on the psp.
Sony pulled the plug, and the manufacturer has now confirmed that worldwide PSP shipments will cease later this year. North American shipments already ended la
st January, but other regions continued sales for several months. Deliveries to Japan will conclude in June, while Europe will hold out for a bit longer. By the year's end however, the only place you'll find a PSP is at used gaming stores and online marketplaces.
Discounts are being offered on the devices worldwide to finish the stocks. Machines that are only devoted to games are facing tough competition from the smartphone market, moreover sony facing more competition from other manufacturers such as nintendo. Sony has reported $1.3 billion loss for the last year and is expecting to stay in loss this year too.
While the last days of the PSP won't be as bittersweet as the PlayStation 2, the handheld had a good run nonetheless. First launched in 2004, the PSP went on to sell an estimated 76.3 million units, making it the ninth best-selling console of all time. 
The system still faced its share of difficulties: Sony had hoped to replicate the PS2's monstrous success as a movie player, but customers weren't interested in repurchasing UMD films at full price. The PSP also faced strong competition in its later years, not just from Nintendo's DS, but mobile gaming markets that Sony hadn't prepared for. I still don't have a psp and first thing tomorrow I'm going to the market and buying it as a tribute to the best handheld gaming console ever. Guys, i have been thinking what would happen if a phone could have some kind of superpowers, and it got me to think What if my phone had a superpower, and if i could choose, what would i choose and how would i use it.
And i got to a conclusion that if my phone could have a superpower it would be teleportation, as in if i press a button i could be anywhere, You would ask why, and here is the answer, that i could be anywhere with the help of my phone, i want to go to the US i could be there in just a tap, i could even help the country with getting our soldiers anywhere between wars, and get details from another country without even leaving a track.
I could even help the very needy patients who have to get to the hospital immediately but can't due to some mishappening or the other i could help them get to the hospital and which could save some lives, that is amazing you know let your imagination wander off and you can save lives.
Even thinking about saving lives it gets to me that how important a life is and that if it could be saved by my phone i will be willing to do anything to save that life, and would thank the god that gave that life and that superpower to my phone.
And so that my phone does not fall into the wrong hands i would have it near me all times so that whenever someone needs me the person has me.
Well i know sometimes it is not possible that our dreams come true, But instead we can all have an awesome phone made by ASUS.
