Reliance Jio announced that Jio GigaFiber broadband services a few months ago and the company is finally ready to announce the official launch date of the same. Reliance is conducting an AGM (Annual General Meet) tonight where it will be making important announcements for its shareholders. The company is also expected to announce the launch date of the Jio GigaFiber broadband services in the country.
With the launch of the Jio GigaFiber, the comapny will be competing against the likes of ACT Fibernet and Airtel V-Fiber. However, seeing the history of Jio, it is pretty obvious that they will bring very aggressive pricing on the table.
At first, Reliance Jio started beta testing the service by providing the FTTH services to a few people in different cities in India. It seems like the company is now done with its testing and they are ready to provide the services to the masses. So, they are most likely to announce the launch date of the FTTH service at the AGM 2019 tonight.
As for as the pricing is concerned, the Jio GigaFiber service will come with a Triple Play Plan starting at Rs. 600 per month. As the name suggests, the plan will offer broadband services along with JioTV and a landline connection. The basic plan will bring 100GB of data at 100Mbps speeds with data coupons worth 40GB.
Apart from the Jio GiagFiber services, Reliance is also expected to launch the JioPhone 3 today at the AGM 2019. The budget-oriented smartphone is expected to be priced at around Rs. 4,500.
