Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ users receive Android Oreo Beta update

Samsung has been working on releasing the Android Oreo update for its smartphones which will be first received by their flagship devices. The Samsung Experience 9.0 update will bring Android Oreo to the table for the Samsung devices. Samsung has now officially released the beta program for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ where users can test the new software under beta and report the bugs and their suggestions.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners in the US, the UK and South Korea will be eligible to get the Samsung Experience 9.0 update under the beta program before the official release, as stated by Samsung in a press statement. The users will need to register for the beta program in order to get the beta update. Sadly, users living in other parts of the world will not be able to register for the same as of now.

Here is how to get the update

  1. Download and install the Samsung+ app (for the US) or the Samsung Members app (for other countries) from the Google Play Store.
  2. Sign in to your Samsung Account, and get the device registered to your account.
  3. Once you get a prompt, register to participate
  4. Accept all the terms and conditions of the beta programme.
  5. Once you have successfully registered, go to Settings > Software update and tap on Download updates manually to download the OTA update.

The new software update will bring some of the features introduced by Google with the new Android Oreo operating system. The update might also bring some features or improvements by Samsung. The update will be first received by Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and the Galaxy Note 8.
