Here's how to get the Face Unlock feature on your Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro

Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant, recently unveiled the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Redmi Note 5 in India. The Redmi Note 5 Pro has gained more popularity when compared to the Redmi Note 5. At the time of launch, the company said that the Redmi Note 5 Pro will soon be getting the Face Unlock feature. Keeping up with the promise, Xiaomi has started rolling out an update for the smartphone. Most of the users should receive the update out of the box as the phone went on sale on February 22.

Xiaomi's PR Lead Clinton Jeff has also tweeted about the software update. The Face Unlock feature is a part of the MIUI v9.2.4 NEIMIEK update. Alongside the Face Unlock feature, the update also brings Improved System Stability. The Over-The-Air (OTA) update for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro weighs in at around 1.6GB. You should get a notification for the update as soon as you boot up your smartphone. However, you can also check it manually by heading over to Settings and then on the System updates.

Redmi Note 5 Pro Specifications

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro features a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC. The device packs in either 4GB or 6GB of RAM with 64GB of onboard storage. The smartphone runs on Android Nougat based MIUI 9 out of the box. Under the hood, there is a 4,000mAh battery which also supports fast charging.

Motorola has partnered up with Flipkart to bring the Moto Days. Under the Moto Days, the smartphones from Motorola will be available at massive discounts. The sale started on Thursday, February 22 and will go on until Saturday, February 24. However, the sale is limited to select Motorola smartphones including the Moto E4 Plus, Moto X4 and Moto Z2 Play.

The Offers

To start with, Moto E4 Plus is currently available at Rs. 9,499. The smartphone was initially launched at a price of Rs. 9,999. Additionally, customers can also get Rs. 2,000 off on exchange of old smartphones. The exchange offer will bring down the price of the smartphone to Rs. 7,499. Moving further, the Moto X4 is also on discount making its current price at Rs. 18,999. The smartphone was launched with a price tag of Rs. 20,999. Just like the Moto E4 Plus, with the Moto X4 customers can get Rs. 2,000 off on exchange with old phones. The exchange will bring its price further down to Rs. 16,999.

From the flagship Z series, the Moto Z2 Play is also available at a discounted price. The Moto Z2 Play is currently available with a price tag of Rs. 22,999 bringing its price down from Rs. 27,999. Moto Z2 Play buyers can also avail Rs. 2,000 off by exchanging their old smartphones.

In terms of specifications, the Moto Z2 Play features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. Google to release Android Go powered Android One smartphone this MWC

Technological giant, Google announced their latest project, Android 8.0 Oreo Go Edition at Google I/O 2017. However so many months after that announcement, we till haven't seen a smartphone running Android Go. Also, we haven't seen a complete ROM as a matter of fact. The company claims that the program will help improve the budget smartphone ecosystem.

After a long wait, the company has now officially said something about its devices. According, to the company, devices running Android Go will be unveiled at Mobile World Congress ( MWC 2018). this year. The company also claims that the handset will be priced at less than $50. In addition to that Google is also expected to push its augmented reality dreams. They will do the same by launching the ARCore at the event.

What to expect apart from Android Go this MWC by Google?

The company, in a blog post, briefly described what we can expect from the company at MWC this year. MWC is expected to begin in Barcelona on Monday. While major OEM's like Samsung, LG, and Nokia show off their newest smartphone, Google will also show off their products. According to the Senior Vice President of Google's Platforms & Ecosystems, Hiroshi Lockheimer we can see new products. These new products can be a revamped Google assistant and Google Lens. However, the spotlight of the event will be the devices running Android Go Edition.

For those unknown, Android Go is a trimmed down version of Android 8.1 Oreo. It is aimed at low-cost smartphones. For comparison, it is aimed at smartphones with only 512MB of RAM and packs a slew of apps for a low processor and internet usage. It will come bundled with some apps like Google Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go, YouTube Go, Google Assistant Go, and Files Go. These Go edition apps will be present instead of normal Google's Android apps.

HMD Global owned Nokia is expected to launch Nokia 1. Nokia 1 will be an Android Go edition smartphone. However, we have rumors of Reliance Jio and Micromax to also launch Android Go edition smartphones.

As per the company, some other major announcements will also be coming up in MWC. The may or may not be regarding Google Assistant, visual analysis app Lens, and RCS messages. Meanwhile, Google is expected to launch it's ARCore app at MWC to push their AR on an Android dream.

LG K8 and K10 2018 editions annouced ahead of MWC 2018 event

LG has finally unveiled the 2018 versions of the K8 and K10 which will be officially launched at the MWC 2018. These smartphones are the direct successor to the 2017 models of K8 and K10. The LG K8 and K10 are the budget offerings by the company. The company has announced these smartphones just a few days ahead of the MWC 2018 event. As per the announcement, these smartphones will be made available in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Under the hood, there is a 2,500mAh battery powering up the internals.

On the optics front, the LG K8 (2018) sports an 8-megapixel camera at the back with a LED flash. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie snapper.

LG K10 (2018)

In terms of specifications, the LG K10 (2018) sports a 5.3-inch In-Cell display with a resolution of 720x1080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core SoC. The device packs in either 2GB or 3GB of RAM coupled with 16GB or 32GB of onboard storage. Storage on the smartphone is expandable up to 2TB using a microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box. The LG K10 (2018) is backed by a 3,000mAh battery.

The LG K10 has a total of three variants, namely, LG K10, K10 Alpha and the K10+. The K10+ and K10 have a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The LG K10 Alpha sports an 8-megapixel camera at the back and has a 5-megapixel camera up front.

Airtel now offers 5GB data with its Rs 98 plan, more data than Jio

Telecom giant, Airtel in order to give competition to Jio made changes to its plans. The company has updated their Rs 98 plan to increase data offered to its customers. Earlier it used to offer 1GB of data. Now the plan offers customers with 5GB of data. The validity of this plans still remains for a period of 28 days. However, the company's new recharge pack is only available in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana only. Also, if you want to opt for the same plan outside these circles, you will get only 1GB.

The company's new Rs 98 recharge plan now offers 5GB 3G/4G data. Earlier, it used to offer only 1GB 3G/4G data. However, the plan has been updated only in Andra Pradesh & Telangana circles. If you are looking to purchase this pack outside, it offers 3GB in Kerala and 1GB in most of the other circles.

However, this Plan is only for data-centric people. It doesn't offer any bundled voice calls and Sms. It is aimed at people needed data and very low amount of calls.

Airtel's Rs 93 Pack

However, if you are a call-centric person, the company also has a Rs 93 plan. This Rs 93 plan is voice call-centric. The Rs 93 pack offers it's customers unlimited voice calls coupled with 100 SMS per day and 1GB data for a period of 28 days. This plan is definitely aimed at users seeking more voice calls. The validity has been increased to 28 days from 10 days. However, if you are in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana, you will still get 10 days of validity.

Plans from its competitor companies

When it comes to biggest competition in the telecom industry, the name is Reliance Jio. Jio continues to offer 4G data at interestingly low-cost to retain most of its users. Following the suit, Airtel doesn’t seem to be far behind.

If we talk about Jio, the telecom operator keeps on providing its users with low-cost data plans. Coupled with that users also get freebies such as cash back with its plans. At Rs 98, Jio provides its users 2GB of bundled data and unlimited calls, 100 SMS messages per day. This plan also gives them access to Jio apps. The validity of the plan is for a period of 28 days.

Samsung Galaxy S9 teaser shows up on Flipkart, to launch in India soon

Samsung is gearing up to take the wraps off the much awaited Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+. The Indian e-commerce website also teases the launch of the upcoming Samsung flagships. Flipkart has posted the banner which is used by Samsung to tease their new devices. The banner on Flipkart has a huge 9 and writes "The Camera. Reimagined." The banner further says "Coming on 25.02.2018" alongside "Stay tuned for more updates."

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 were also sold by Flipkart which makes it quite obvious for the Galaxy S9 to enter the territory. Samsung is about to launch the Galaxy S9 on February 25 at the MWC 2018 event in Barcelona. Seeing the banner on Flipkart, it looks like the launch will be a global launch and the smartphones will make their way to India pretty soon.

Expected Specifications

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will sport a 5.8-inch display while the Galaxy S9+ will feature a larger 6.2-inch display. Displays on both the smartphones will be Super AMOLED and come with a resolution of 2960x1440 pixels.

Xiaomi recently unveiled the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India. The smartphones got over 2 million notifications by interested buyers as per a tweet by Manu Kumar Jain. These smartphones went on sale for the first time today and went out of stock in just a few seconds. Those who are looking to buy any of these will have to wait for February 28, 12 noon.

Interested buyers can head over to Flipkart and click on the Notify Me icon next to the smartphone. The users will then receive a notification as soon as the device goes on sale. The smartphone will be available via both, Flipkart and company's own Mi.com website.

Moto G6 Play specifications G6 series codenames leaked

Motorola is expected to launch the Moto G6 Play along with G6 and G6 Plus soon. The G6 series will be the replacement for the Moto G5s series. It is rumoured to be launched at MWC 2018. The G6 Play has been spotted on benchmarking website Geekbench. However, the company doesn't have an event planned for the MWC, so that a mystery.

The Moto G6 Play gets a score of 472 in single core and 1801 in multi-core category. The GeekBench listing also reveals several details. these details include processor, memory and operating system. Also, the popular tipster Evan Blass took on Twitter to reveal their codenames. The G6 Play has been codenamed, Ashley. The codenames for G6 is Blaine, and for the G6 Plus is Teller.

According to the GeekBench listing, the Moto G6 Play sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. It will be coupled with 3GB of RAM and run Android 8.0 Oreo. Whats sad is the processor was unveiled in 2015 and is quite outdated. However, considering the G6 Play will be the most affordable in the G6 series, the cost-cutting is expected. Not much apart from that is known about the device, as of now. Although rumours are that the G6 Play could come with a 5.7-inch HD display. Also, it will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery.

Last year, Evan Blass also revealed on Twitter that Moto will bring back the Play devices in G series next year. Although Motorola launched the Moto G4 Play as a budget version of the Moto G4, the Moto G5 Play never saw the light. However, this could change this year with a Moto G6 Play.

What we know about the Moto G6 Series

Rumours suggest that the Moto G6 series will feature a design similar to the Moto X4. All the G6 series devices are expected to come with 3D glass back. This will be complemented with an 18:9 aspect ratio displays. Although, fingerprint scanner on the G6 series will be on the front with the devices still having 18:9 display.

Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant, likes to create a tough competition for its competitors. The smartphone manufacturer already makes some good budget smartphones as well as flagships. Now that Razer has created a new standard of gaming smartphones, Xiaomi again wants to create a competition. As per a recent report, Xiaomi is now working on a gaming smartphone which is currently being referred as "Blackshark".

Speculations suggest that the smartphone could be from Black Shark Technology. Xiaomi is already an investor in the company. The "Blackshark" device has been spotted on AnTuTu which gives us some of the key information about the device.

Specifications

As for the specifications, Xiaomi's new smartphone will come with high-end hardware under the hood. To start with, Blackshark is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with the Adreno 630 GPU. The smartphone features a Full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device packs in 8GB of RAM coupled with 32GB of onboard storage. The smartphone is running on Google's Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.

As the phone was spotted on benchmarking website AnTuTu, the benchmarks score received by the device is 270680. Notably, the score is higher than that of the Samsung Galaxy S9+. The Galaxy S9+ was recently spotted on AnTuTu with a score of 265276.

To recall, the Razer Phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. The gaming smartphone features a 5.7-inch display with 120Hz refresh rate. The device packs in 8GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.
