Cortana soon coming to Android and iOS: What does this mean for Siri and Assistant?

Today Microsoft confirmed a really long-running rumour. Stating that its smart voice assistant, Cortana is coming to Android and iOS, that too as soon as this June's end.

Cortana

Cortana is the answer given by Microsoft to Google's Google Now and Apple's Siri. It is a much better featured and better-integrated voice assistant than the competition, and some websites have also stated: "Cortana is the Best Voice Assistant out of all the other competition". Cortana currently only being available on Windows Phone and Windows 10 makes you have to buy a windows phone or install the Windows 10 Preview on your PC. Microsoft has also acknowledged, That to make Cortana a truly competitive Voice Assistant they have to go ahead and make sure, that it runs on the most used platforms in the world, and those are Android and iOS.

Here is what Microsoft Stated -

"CORTANA FOR ANDROID AND iOS WILL DO MOST OF THE THINGS CORTANA DOES ON YOUR PC OR ON A WINDOWS PHONE.”

We feared that because Cortana was just going to be another App you could download onto your Android or iOS Device, it will be lacking the seamless integration that it comes with on the Windows Phone or with Windows 10. But, Microsoft has assured us that Cortana for Android and iOS will do most of the things that it can do on your Windows Phone or PC. We know for sure that for iOS and Android it will set reminders, bring you updates, etc. but its functionality will be limited as due to not being capable of fully integrating with your phone it may not be able to change your settings and that kind of stuff that needs full integration with the operating system. And moreover as far the rumours suggest that you will not be able to use Cortana's via Voice Command, that means you won't be able to say Hey Cortana to start making it hear you.

The first-ever view of Cortana for iOS and Android that you can preview will be debuting in late June, as stated by Microsoft.

While Microsoft did not mention anything about having the smart voice assistant preinstalled in any device, but we are hoping that it comes in the package that all future Cyanogen Devices will have, Due to the deal that Cyanogen and Microsoft made. We also know that Cyanogen requests its partners to keep mum until they launch the next version or the next update of the OS, just as they did with True Caller. and, We hope that Cyanogen brings full integration with the software including the Hot Word Detection.

microsoft

This new Route taken by Microsoft is a bold move by the Company showing that it recognises the pre-existing companies in the game and is wanting to embrace them. And moreover, this will also get Google and Apple to up their game or else their Voice Assistants will be wiped off.

    How A Gun Works

A "gun" works by channelling the explosive force of a propellant down a barrel, driving a projectile ("bullet") out of the barrel and towards a target.

    How A Gun Works

The same forces are at work, whether using an antique muzzle-loader or a modern-day rifle or pistol.

    How A Gun Works

Modern ammunition carries the primer, propellant, and projectile all in the same cartridge.  The process of firing the gun starts when you load the cartridge into the firing chamber.  After loading the cartridge, you aim the weapon and pull the trigger.  The mechanics of it may vary, but a firing pin eventually strikes the primer, which ignites the propellant.  The hot explosive gases are channeled behind the projectile, forcing it down the barrel and out of it.

There are many variations of "guns," such as single-shot, revolver, and semi-automatic.   Here's an excellent Wikipedia page describing various types of handguns and the differences between them Click Here

HOW TO: Fix Overheating Issues Of The YU Yureka

The YU Yureka, is the re-branded version of the Coolpad F2, a Chinese Smartphone, and also has seen a lot of demand since the launch due to the high value for money that it offers to the user. This phone is currently being sold in batches without any flash sales like previously due to the launch of it's successor The Yu Yuphoria, and previously we saw that nearly 10,000 to 20,000 units were being sold in a matter of a few seconds. But, one cannot expect everything to be great in a phone with that price tag, The Yu Yureka has an awful problem of overheating. So we are here to help you with this problem and will tell you how to fix the overheating of the Yu Yureka.

    Yu Yureka

One of the most common problem people are facing with the Yureka is it's heating problem. The Yureka, while in use heats up to about a temperature greater than 50°C in a matter of a few minutes even when it is performing the simplest of tasks like texting or browsing the internet, and believe me it is too damn hot to hold. This can be a real problem, in various places where it is really hot, it would be like taking a hot iron and putting it to your ear to take a call. Having a case on, only worsens the issue, as it could melt the case and the case would stick to the Yureka.

    Iron On The Ear

Sudden Battery drain has also been reported by a few individuals.

The main cause of this problem is the MEDIA SERVER, which is running constantly in an infinite loop and is using up all the resources, of your phone. Also, the CPU is slightly overclocked, than the usual qualification it should have been on. Tackling with all of these issues should bring in a decrease of the overheating and battery drain.

    1. Dealing with the MEDIA SERVER issue:

    • Open Settings> Apps> All Apps
    • Find Media Storage and open it
    • Force Stop it and Clear Data
    • REBOOT the device
    • Go to Settings> Apps> Disabled
    • Find Media Storage, find it and Enable it

    MEDIASERVER 1MEDIASERVER 2MEDIASERVER 3

    2. Underclocking the CPU:

Disclaimer: This might cause your device to lag a little bit. Also, fiddling with the CPU settings is not generally recommended. So, proceed at your own risk. Beetel Bite is not responsible for any damage caused to your device whatsoever.
    • Open Settings
    • In the search bar, type performance (This is a hidden option)
    • Profile — Powersave
    • Processor > Governor– Powersave
    • Minimum clock speed — 200
    • Maximum clock speed — 800 or 1000
    • I/O Scheduler — Loop
    • Memory Management — Check both options

Underclocking CPU 1 Underclocking CPU 2 Underclocking CPU 3

Hope this helped in fixing the issues. Since this is a software update, we can expect CyanogenMod will fix these in the next software update.

This method works with all smartphones but Yureka tends to heat up a lot that's why we specifically put its name in the article.

If You Think we missed something please tell us in the comments below.

    Xiaomi Redmi 2 Successor Leaked

Xiaomi's new 2015's smartphone lineup was leaked last week. Indicating that the Chinese Manufacturer will launch two New Redmi Note series handsets this July. Now, a New Redmi smartphone has been leaked alongside all rumours of a new Mi handset featuring a Snapdragon 808 SoC Chipset.
According to the twitter leaker Upleaks, the new rumoured Xiaomi Redmi series comes with model name Xiaomi H3Y and its project name is Hermes, as in the greek gods name. Upleaks has also leaked the to be specifications of the new Xiaomi H3Y which include a full-HD display (unknown screen size, most probably 5 inches), an octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor, 2GB RAM, dual-SIM 4G support, an 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front shooter. The handset is also said to run MIUI 6 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Upleaks has also shared couple of images of the Xiaomi H3Y smartphone showing front and rear panel.

    mi3_xiaomi_india_twitter_handle

Contradicting the current leak, the Xiaomi 2015 roadmap that surfaced last week had suggested that the Redmi Note 2 will feature a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display, and Snapdragon 410 (MSM8919) processor, while the Redmi Note 2 Pro will feature a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display, and Snapdragon 615 processor. Both the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Pro were tipped to sport 13-megapixel rear cameras and 5-megapixel front-facing cameras.

In other news, Chinese analyst Pan Jiutang, who recently tipped details about rumoured Huawei-made Nexus smartphone, has claimed that Xiaomi is working on a smartphone featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor. Jiutang went on to suggest that the alleged Xiaomi handset with Snapdragon 808 SoC (most recently seen on the LG G4) will be priced somewhere between the company's Redmi and Mi series handsets.

Last week's roadmap hinted that Xiaomi, after launching the Mi 4i in India last month, will launch the Xiaomi Mi 4s in June. However, the roadmap had tipped a Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) for the Mi 4s rather than Snapdragon 808 SoC.

Other specifications tipped by leaked the Xiaomi roadmap for the Mi 4s include a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display; 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS, and a 4-megapixel front camera.

Readers should remember that all these leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt as Xiaomi has not mentioned anything about the upcoming device and the leaks legitimacy remains questionable.
