Tencent games have been working on a new update for the mobile version of the most popular game, PUBG. The new PUBG Mobile 0.9.0 update brings in Halloween theme as well as a new night mode. Here's everything you need to know about the latest holiday season update.
PUBG Mobile servers were down for maintenance on October 24 and we get to know today that they were down for a reason. The company was working a new update for the upcoming holiday season. The update weighs in at around 500MB and it is available for both Android as well as iOS users. This is a slow rollout so the update might take some time before it reaches on your handheld device.
What's New
To start with, there is a whole new theme for the game inspired by the Halloween festival. The players can notice the changes as soon as they enter the main menu of the game. PUBG now also has decorations in some areas of the maps. There are new outfits as well as a new skin for the AKM. Interestingly, the enemies killed using an AKM will become scarecrows on the map.
One of the biggest changes with the new update is the all-new night mode. The mode is currently available on the Erangel Map where players will be playing in complete darkness which will reduce the player's visibility and increase the difficulty level. Further, the game has also introduced a new weapon called the QBU DMR exclusively for the Sanhok map replacing the Mini14 rifle. There is also a new Rony pick-up truck on the same map.
