Twitter expands live broadcasting portfolio with WNBA games, News, and concerts

As we reported yesterday, Twitter made a deal with Bloomberg to stream News on their platform. New details have surfaced, that they are now going to expand their portfolio with 12 new live broadcasting offerings. This would include Bloomberg News, the WNBA games, a tech show from Verge, and much more.

twitter

Twitter adds 12 new live stream offerings

Twitter, has been struggling to get new users and advertisers onboard. And, this news about more live content has made the investors happy, thus shares of Twitter have seen a bump on Wall Street.

Twitter on Monday announced that they will start streaming the women's basketball league(WNBA) every week starting this month. The WNBA will continue streaming on their live platform till the end of 2019 season.

They also announced that this month they will also live stream a 360-degree video of the 17th hole at the PGA's Players Championship golf tournament, a weekly Baseball highlights and commentary show, and they are already live streaming one Major League game a week this season.

Also, beginning this month Live Nation Entertainment Inc. the music promoter will stream live concerts. BuzzFeed will also be broadcasting a morning show on their platform for trending tweets. This new live streaming platform will also include a news startup Cheddar which will stream an opening bell show every day.

Though the terms and conditions of these deals weren't disclosed. But, this might be them locking in various contracts, just to ensure last month doesn't happen again. Last month Twitter lost the deal to live-stream the National Football League to Amazon Inc. and suffered a huge loss.

Adding these 12 new live deals tonight is a testament to the success of our company, combining high-quality streaming video with our only-on-Twitter conversation.

Twitter partners with Bloomberg for streaming TV News

Twitter has decided to partner with Bloomberg Media to stream television news. This partnership states that Twitter will be able to stream TV News on their social media platform round-the-clock. This news was reported on Sunday by the Wall Street Journal.

twitter

Twitter + Bloomberg = Social Media News Channel

The new channel under this partnership is yet to be named. And it would start streaming the TV news by Bloomberg by fall 2017. The Wall Street Journal also stated that this new partnership would be announced on 1st May, 2017.

Recently, Twitter has been having user growth for the past few months. And, this seems like a desperate effort by them to convince the advertisers that it will see user base increase in the near future. Along with this deal, Twitter also has been updating its product portfolio for their application and website. Also new features are constantly being added to attract new users.

Twitter has been making a push into news and sports from the last year. This might be to pique the interest various media agencies which could turn into future acquirers. Even, In a internal memo company CEO Jack Dorsey defined company's mission as "People's news network".

This new bold move of partnering with Bloomberg shows that the company might be thinking of getting media partners than getting acquired by one.

What are your thoughts on this partnership? will you ever watch TV News on a social media platform. and do you think that maybe being acquired by a bigger social media platform like Facebook have been beneficial for Twitter.

Sony MDR-XB950B1 Extra Bass Bluetooth headphones review

Sony MDR-XB950B1 Extra Bass Bluetooth headphones are simply one of the best Bluetooth headphones in the market. They look trendy and sound amazing, with clear sound and great bass. Though the price being on the higher side the Sony MDR-XB950B1 give you your money's worth.

Sony MDR-XB950B1

Sony MDR-XB950B1 - "Amazing Bass and Great Battery Life"

The Sony MDR-XB950B1 for the high-end headphone market are extremely comfortable and sound clear with good bass. And if you want that extra punch you can just turn on the Bass Effect to enhance the Bass directly from the headphone. And a great thing about these is the battery that lasts 18-hours on a single charge. It also works via the 3.5mm cable if you have no juice left.

Sony MDR-XB950B1 extra bass

Sony has currently made available the Sony MDR-XB950B1 in two colours blue, and black. These headphones don't cheap out as they are made out of high-grade plastic and metal and for the earcups great cushioning has been used.

Design & Build

The Sony MDR-XB950B1 is not getting a huge design revamp as it is still using the design of its predecessors in the Extra Bass lineup. The headband is all-metal, and everything else is high-grade textured plastic.

Sony XB950B1 extra bass

These headphones feel like they can take a heavy beating and still come out strong. Also, the Sony MDR-XB950B1 achieves that sweet spot of being lightweight and still feel premium. The B1 also comes with the circumaural earcups to make you feel more comfortable and relaxed with these on.

Bluetooth headphones have become a rage these days with manufacturers removing the 3.5mm jack to listen to the audio. Due to which companies have started to make their headphones flashier. The Sony MDR-XB950B1, on the other hand, keep things simple and take the elegant and sleek road.

Sound

The Sony MDR-XB950B1 sound amazing, but to be honest these aren't in the Extra Bass series for that. The bass these headphones give out is amazing, and with a press of a button, you can get even more bass than what they usually put out. People think that bass headphones do not do well low frequencies, but these simply do.

These being the flagship model need to stand out. And, they do with clear and crisp sound, also providing the bass heads the bass they have always dreamt about.

Sony XB950B1

The XB950B1's has amazing highs, mids, and lows. And, we know that that might be too much to say. But, these are the flagship for the Extra Bass lineup for a reason.

Comfort

Sony has done an extremely great job till now, with the extra bass lineup. And the XB950B1 do not disappoint. The metal band gives the headphones the ruggedness they require. After a bit of usage, the clamp loosens a bit and takes the shape of your head, which is always a welcome feature. The ear cups are well padded or over padded with a kind of memory foam which is hugely comfortable.

The headphone is well padded as said the earcup padding is way over than what is required, and the head padding is also soft and comfortable, which does not put pressure on your head while usage. And trust us the earcups encompass your whole ear making them also noise isolating.

Sony XB950B1 wireless headphones

You can also download the Headphones Connect application from Sony to fine tune the headphones as per your liking. But, we weren't able to play around with the app as much as we would have liked to so we can't tell you much about that.

Connectivity

These headphones can connect to any device with Bluetooth and NFC. This also comes with Qualcomm's aptX technology which gives great sound. And also you can connect these to your devices with the included 3.5mm cable.

Quick Highlights

  • The Extra Bass effect is great
  • Fully wireless headphones
  • Various pairing options including NFC
  • 18 Hour battery life

Verdict

The Sony MDR- XB950B1 are a great pair of headphones with amazing bass and a long-lasting battery. And if you have ever used beats headphones, these trump them in every department. Great design, powerful performance, extreme comfort, and simply best in class sound quality.

Sony XB950B1 bluetooth headphones

These headphones are for the people who are in the market for high-end wireless headphones. These at Rs.12,990 are an extremely good pair of headphones, and you would be making the best choice going in for these.

The 10 things you should never do with your smartphone

There are certain things that you should never do with your phone under any circumstances. Let this article serve as a ten commandment table for all Android users, and thus avoid unexpected problems or unpleasant surprises.

Nexus 5X

Do not use the screen lock

At a time when almost our entire life is contained in our phones, not making use of the lock screen can cost you dearly. Establishing a security code or a blocking pattern hardly involves effort and considerably increases the security of your terminal.

In the case of theft, this will help that the person who has the phone cannot make calls or access personal files. Once stolen you can lock the phone or try to locate it through the Android Device Manager.

The unlock pattern is easy to set up and increases the security of your phone.

Ignore phone updates

Failures of security, low autonomy, overheating, data connection errors. The solution to many of these problems are made through software updates, both the operating system and individual applications, so it is highly recommended to maintain Our updated phone.

Charge the phone via USB

Charging the phone by connecting it to a computer via USB is much, much slower than doing it through a plug. It is also advisable to check that the charger is working properly and that it is compatible with the charging technology of our phone.

iPhone

Avoid loading your devices by connecting them to your computer.

Do not back up

The files, photos and other data stored on your computer can disappear forever if you lose your phone or it is damaged, so it is advisable to always keep all the files stored in our device stored on a computer or other device where they are safe.

Store all data in the cloud

Just like keeping all of our files on one phone can lead to problems, storing all the data in a cloud storage service like Dropbox or Google Drive can end badly. These platforms can be hacked, so our photos and personal files can end up in the hands of third parties. Remember to use applications such as BoxCryptor to increase security and make copies on physical media.

cloud

These applications are not always the best choice.

Leave the phone charging all night

Keeping in mind the improved autonomy of most phones, leaving the phone charged all night seems like a good measure to make sure we have enough energy to put up with the whole day. However, too long charges can cause our phone's battery to withstand less in the long term and cause heating problems.

An alternative to this is to leave the phone in plane mode at night to save the maximum amount of battery during that time. This will also prevent us from getting wakeful notifications in the middle of the night.

Do not protect the screen

If you do not like to use covers and covers on your phones, at least consider protecting the screen of your phone. Screen protectors provide protection against scratches, splashes, etc. Also, they are very economical.

Samsung

The protective films are very cheap.

Use the terminal in wet environments

This rule is more important than it seems. A manufacturer may void the warranty if its examination determines that the terminal has been exposed to higher than normal moisture levels. The same thing happens with IP57, IP58 or IP68 certified phones, which are submersible but only up to one meter deep. But, if the exposure is different it could lead to more problems.

Do not delete compromised photos

We all received pictures of the depraved friend of the moment through WhatsApp or Messenger. These photos become part of our gallery automatically unless we establish the opposite. So, the moment you're showing holiday photos to anyone in the office, something unexpected may appear. Check the type of images you have saved or change the settings of the applications so that they do not become part of your gallery automatically.

Use the necessary measures to protect your images.

Buy a smartphone associated with a contract of permanence

Many things can happen in two years: losses, thefts, breakdowns Just do not do it. If you do not have the money to buy the phone you want. It is best to buy a cheaper one. You also need to compare specifications of available smartphones and buy the best fits you.

Do you agree with these ten commandments of the Android user?

Brainwavz BLU-Delta bluetooth earphones In-Depth Review

Previously, we had tested the Brainwavz BLU 200 Bluetooth earphones and felt they were great. Now, Brainwavz has taken the next step with the Brainwavz BLU-Delta being launched in India. We tested the BLU Delta out for some time, and now are ready to tell you if they are worth it or not.

Brainwavz BLU-Delta

Brainwavz BLU-Delta Bluetooth Earphones

Design

The Brainwavz BLU-Delta, come neatly packaged inside a hard case which helps store and carries the earphones and accessories. The earbuds on these are having an impressive colour combination of matte black and red with the branding in white.

Brainwavz BLU-Delta

The earbuds are nice and small and fit snug in the ears. Though, the control unit attached to them is huge and feels easy to break. The BLU-Delta come with comply foam tips to increase the comfort and aid in noise cancellation. These earphones come with a tangle-free cable, microphone, and control console, which does its job to near perfection.

Performance

The Brainwavz BLU-Delta perform extremely well and have great sound output. We tested these earphones on Android and Apple smartphones with a huge palette of musical genres. The vocals were clear and the music was extremely distinguishable.

Though, we loved the BLU-Delta earphones providing to the point highs, mids, and lows with great bass and treble. We felt that they were extremely loud, thus we had to keep them at 50-60 percent volume levels. And, we can guarantee that playing songs at full volume doesn't distort the sound.

Comfort

Similar to its predecessor the Brainwavz BLU-Delta are extremely comfortable. The control panel looks huge and feels will cause discomfort, but is light as a feather. We were able to use these headphones for long hours while working or exercising without any discomfort. The BLU-Delta have an amazing grip and don't slip out of your ears easily, so happy running.

Brainwavz BLU-Delta

Battery

The Brainwavz BLU-Delta have a solid eight-hour battery when connected. These take roughly around two hours to charge from 0 to 100 percent. The digital assistant also tells you when the battery is low. And unlike some other Bluetooth earphones, the sound quality doesn't deteriorate with battery percentage decline.

Brainwavz BLU-Delta

Control Panel

The in-line remote that is attached to the earphones, looks amazing in matte black. But, is huge which initially made us doubt the build quality of the earphones. The buttons and the lights are similar to the BLU 200 or any other Bluetooth earphones.

Brainwavz BLU-Delta

The control panel is made out of good plastic which will not easily break. And, it also holds the primary microphone at its back, along with the charging port on the side.

Verdict

The Brainwavz BLU-Delta is surely a step up from the previous years BLU 200 and a worthy successor, with the good build quality, a great design, lovely sound quality, and great battery life.

Brainwavz BLU-Delta

Though our initial thoughts were the Brainwavz BLU-Delta would be extremely fragile due to the huge control panel, Brainwavz was able to prove us wrong. These being priced at around Rs.3,699 are a great deal.

These are value for money Bluetooth earphones and a definite buy if you are in the market for a pair.
