Ever created a website for your business or wrote an article on your blog hoping to get a lot of views but found out that Google (or other search engines) do not even show your article till page 13? Unfortunately, nobody scrolls to page 13 of a search engine to find something they need. This is why you need to learn SEO or search engine optimizations. Right SEO techniques can bring your article right up to rank on page 1, or even as the first result for any related search. Wonder, what boost would it give to your business or clicks for your website.
If you are new to the SEO universe, here is a quick guide put together to help you rank on page 1 of Google search results. All you need to do is follow these on-page SEO techniques.
WHAT TO DO TO RANK #1 ON GOOGLE
Play by Google’s rules
However simple it may sound but the first rule is to follow the rules. Google's Webmasters handbook has simple rules you need to follow if you want to rank on the site. But if you break those rules, forget page 1, you would not even rank on any page of Google search result. Google also penalizes illicit practices, if any, adopted to get ranked. These penalties include complete removal from Google indexing.
“We strongly encourage you to pay very close attention to the Quality Guidelines below, which outline some of the illicit practices that may lead to a site being removed entirely from the Google index or otherwise affected by an algorithmic or manual spam action. If a site has been affected by a spam action, it may no longer show up in results on google.com or on any of Google’s partner sites.”
Configuring your website to meet Google’s requirements is a prerequisite, however, following these guidelines does not guarantee the top rank.
Since everyone is fighting for that one spot (or one page), it is palpable to go beyond normal and yet abide by the rulebook. This is where on-page SEO techniques come to rescue. These can act as a tool and give your website an edge.
Do not follow the trend
No, do not be surprised. Following a trend is the first instinct to grab traffic and it is so for everyone. While you write on topics or use keywords that are trending, do not forget to be unique. After all, ranking is all about the competition. The more popular terms you use, the more you will increase your horizons, the more you will widen your competition. If your competitors perform better than you, Google will see that and you will be ranked below them.
As a small business, you cannot compete with big companies that have a lot of marketing budget and people dedicated to improving their SEO. As a small business, competing with those companies in their game will only destroy your time and money. You need to find a niche for yourself. Focus on what more can you provide. Instead of competing with big companies, you can easily target a niche audience and become a big fish in a small pond, thus bringing you to the top ranking in your core area. Once you start having a loyal audience, recognition, you can always expand.
Get your keywords right
As we advised earlier, do not target the big keywords. These are taken by big companies which make it hard to compete. Long-tailed keywords are a good option because they are not usually taken by big companies, and offer a lot more conversion compared to short-tailed keywords. A good keyword is key to on-page SEO techniques done right.
While we know a top short-tailed keyword can drive a ton of traffic, we can easily combine many short tail keywords to make long-tailed keywords which will bring a good amount of traffic and help you compete with other smaller companies and not with bigger companies with a lot of budgets.
Also, research shows long-tailed searches are 70% more common than short-tailed keywords. The reason is the long-tailed keywords are not specific and short-tailed are more general.
Publish loads of compelling and useful content
“Creating compelling and useful content will likely influence your website more than any of the other factors.”
This is what Google says in their handbook. It means you need a lot of content and good quality content which the users will actually read. Content without quality, where the users do not read the whole article or even do not read at all, will not lead you anywhere. Google considers the content read or the time spent by a user on a particular article as a ranking factor.
Perform optimization with your keywords in mind.
On-page SEO or on-page optimization is one of the biggest techniques for optimizing your content. If you create great content and keywords, without optimization, it is useless.
It includes optimization of content inside your website, including content, site speed, visual elements, meta tags, meta descriptions, permalink structure, internal links, etc. It is necessary for your pages to get indexed properly and accorded the top positions.
Optimized headlines and meta descriptions can actually result in a 10% boast itself. Also, the right on-page SEO techniques increase the click-through rate (CTR) and Google loves CTR. A better CTR can help you rank much higher.
Samsung has launched a ton of smartphone recently. Most of its smartphones are focused on normal consumers. However, the company has also announced its Galaxy Enterprise Edition smartphones for business customers. These phones are currently available only in the United Kingdom. While these phones will sport similar design and hardware, they will bring enhanced security and provide more service support for corporate users.
Currently, the South Korean giant is offering quite a lot of smartphones under its Galaxy Enterprise Edition, which include the Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10e, Galaxy A50, Galaxy A40, Galaxy Note 9, XCover 4s and more.
Apart from the extra security, the Galaxy Enterprise Edition smartphone users will gain other benefits as well. These benefits include regular firmware updates as well as four years of regular Android and Samsung security patches. This will ensure the security of the device down the line.
The flagship Enterprise Edition S and Note Series phones will get monthly updates for the first three years. For the final year, it will receive quarterly updates. In comparison, the regular variants receive Android updates for the first two years and then they shift to the quarterly update cycle.
As for the mid-range devices like the Samsung Galaxy A-series and the Galaxy XCover 4S, the company will provide them with enterprise updates quarterly for four years. This is way better than the regular mid-range Samsung phones, which usually stop receiving updates after two years.
Every month people tend to purchase at least four-to-five products from various categories. It used to be quite difficult when people had to visit multiple stores, burning a lot of fuel just to find the right product. Ever since the internet reached everyone's convenience, online shopping has become more popular than ever.
Even though there are tons of trusted websites nowadays, still people often prefer to buy good offline. Here are five reasons why you must prefer shopping online over offline.
Wide range of products
When you head out to your nearest electronics store, all you can find is TVs, refrigerators, mobile phones and more. However, if you require clothes you again need to hop out to another shop. This becomes convenient when you are shopping online. You can either purchase everything at once by adding them to your cart or can visit multiple websites with just a click of a button.
Discounts and Offers
Online shopping is already cheaper than shopping from offline channels as a lot of hidden charges are eliminated. Moreover, offers in online shopping where all these websites are offering discounts to compete against other e-commerce giants. Apart from offering instant discounts, these companies also collaborate with various banks to offer more discounts through credit or debit cards.
Additionally, these e-commerce giants keep introducing different festive season sales where they bring unbelievable offers on the latest products. These sales not only arrive during the festive season but also when a competitor has something on offer.
Exclusive products
With online shopping rising significantly, multiple brands like to collaborate with various e-commerce giants to bring exclusive products. Here, not only the brand takes the advantage but also the e-commerce giants that collaborate with them. These online shopping websites bring an exclusive product in order to bring more attention to their platform. Once a user buys that exclusive product, they might come back for something else.
Free home delivery
One thing which might concern most people while ordering online is the shipment cost. However, most e-commerce giants have stopped charging a shipping fee on most products. Additionally, these online shopping websites now have tons of warehouses all across the country, which helps in minimising the delivery time.
No travel cost
When we shop offline, we have to get out of our comfort zone and travel 5 to 10kms to get the right product. Also, this travelling is not at all free as you might take a cab or at least burn some fuel. Further, you might face issues while finding the right parking spot for your vehicle.
In conclusion, nowadays users have the privilege to purchase various products including clothes, electronics, furniture and more right through their comfort zone. Not only buyers feel comfortable, but they also tend to save a lot of money while shopping online. These shopping websites even have a review section where you can see the reviews of a person who purchased the product to have a better idea about the quality of the product. Also, buyers can even return the goods if the size did not fit or the quality was not up to the mark.
Apple recently launched the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The flagship smartphones went on sale in India in the last week of September. While many Apple fans got it within the first week, others were waiting to grab one around Diwali. Unfortunately, the phone is out of stock in both online and offline markets.
Most of the models in the Apple iPhone 11 series are running out of stock on Flipkart, Amazon as well as on PayTM Mall. It is not only the online store where the stocks are running low but also the offline retailers. Apple authorised retailers are struggling to get their hands on some units.
This might be because of the attractive price tag set by Apple this time around. The Apple iPhone 11 is impressively priced at just Rs. 64,990 for the 64GB variant. However, it is strange to see that even Rs. 1,09,990 priced iPhone 11 Pro Max is also doing well in terms of sales.
According to a report, Apple shipped 42,000 units of iPhone 11, 23,000 units of iPhone 11 Pro and 18,000 units of iPhone 11 Pro Max. Since then, the company has not shipped any more units to the country. Until the next lot of devices come in, there will be a shortage of the iPhone 11 series in India.
If you are eager to get one as soon as possible, the only chance you have is to import one from outside the country. However, there is also another route, which is searching in every outlet possible, but you might have to compromise on your choice of colour variant.

One of the key highlights of the smartphone is the 32-megapixel selfie camera. All of this comes at a starting price of Rs. 13,999.
Vivo Z1 Pro

Redmi 8A is Xiaomi's latest budget offering in India. With this, the company aims to provide consumers with great performance at an affordable price. The Redmi A series is the company's best budget selling lineups in the country.
However, it is not true that every smartphone is good just because its predecessor was amazing. Take the case of the 10.or D, it was good, but the 10.or D2 was less than a stellar phone. So let's find out whether the Redmi 8A is a smartphone you should spend your hard-earned money on or not.
Redmi 8A Review
Redmi 8A is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor coupled with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage. There is a dual SIM card slot along with a separate microSD card slot.
The device sports a 6.2-inch (1520x720 pixels) 19:9 aspect ratio IPS LCD display. For optics, it features a 12-megapixel, f/1.8 aperture sensor on the back. For the selfies, it has an 8-megapixel f/2.0 aperture sensor. All of this is backed by a 5,000mAh non-removable battery. It runs Google’s Android 9.0 Pie operating system with the company's own MIUI 10 skin on the top. The Android 10 update status is unclear as of now.
The phone sports a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port, which is quite a rare find in this segment. It lacks a fingerprint sensor, which is something that I feel is required in 2019.
Redmi 8A Review: Design
As far as the design goes, the Redmi 8A has managed to impress me out of the box. The front is a bit bland and looks like any other smartphone sporting a waterdrop notch. The back is where I was impressed a bit as it has a textured pattern and has a vertically elongated oval encompassing the branding and the camera unit. It has a plastic body, which is fine considering the price.
The speaker grille is located just above the dot notch, which also houses the camera. It also has a fat chin at the bottom, which consists of the Redmi branding.
Redmi 8A sports a single camera unit on the back paired with an LED flash aligned vertically on the top centre. The elongated oval design feature looks really good and makes the device feel a bit more on the premium side. The back is textured while the elongated oval is plain with a matte finish.
The right edge consists of the volume rockers and the power button. The top edges has the secondary microphone. The left edge sports a SIM card tray only, while the bottom edge has a USB Type-C port along with the loudspeaker and the headphone jack.
Overall, the design of the Redmi 8A looks pretty good.
Redmi 8A Review: Software
The Redmi 8A runs Google’s Android 9.0 Pie with the company’s own MIUI 10.3 skin on top. Xiaomi's MIUI is one of the most popular custom Android skins currently available. Love it or hate it, its features are useful and its colourful UI with the heavily modified Android experience is a boon for many users.
The device offers users with a heavily customised Android experience with its own icon packs and many additional apps. Most of these apps cannot be uninstalled. Between the colourful UI and no app drawer, whether you like it or not depends on your personal choices.
Overall, with MIUI 10, Xiaomi has made an effort to satisfy all users but has also made the UI even more complex and different from the stock Android build, which is a negative for me.
Redmi 8A Review: Performance
Performance is a major area of concern on any device, the same goes for the Redmi 8A. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor coupled with an Adreno 505 GPU. Our review unit came with 2GB RAM/32GB storage.
We ran our usual benchmark tests to evaluate how the device performs. On AnTuTu the device was able to score 76242, which is good enough considering the price and competition. We weren't able to install the Geekbench 5 directly on the device using the Google Play Store, but we were able to get a build running on the device. Even that build failed to calculate the results. The performance numbers of the device on paper are adequate.
While playing light games such as Temple Run and Crossy Chicken, the phone runs flawlessly with the CPU usage hitting its highs. Heavy games like Asphalt 9: Legends, PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile become unplayable within 30 minutes of gameplay. The device also heats up quite a bit. Considering the price, this was expected.
Redmi 8A Review: Display
Redmi 8A sports a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1520x720 pixels and comes with an aspect ratio of 19:9.
An LCD display is what you except when you consider the price of the smartphone. The brightness levels are able to get super low and but not immensely high which may be an issue while using it in direct sunlight. The colour reproduction of the display is a little dull but still acceptable.
Redmi 8A Review: Camera
Redmi 8A features a 12-megapixel, f/1.8 aperture on the back paired with an 8-megapixel f/2.0 aperture selfie camera. As we all know numbers tell only half of the story, so let's find out how the Redmi 8A's camera performs.
1 of 7
The images taken from the rear camera of the Redmi 8A look a bit washed out. Most of the images have bad white balance, bad colour accuracy, and overall look washed out. In good lighting conditions, the photos can turn out to be a bit decent, but the colours are still not that good.
The front camera has a different story. With the beauty mode turned all the way down, there is still some artificial enhancing of colours, which you can notice without a doubt. The colours look way more vivid and the details are not so good. It looks as if the whole photo has been smoothened.
Overall, the camera of the Redmi 8A is nothing to brag about, but it gets the job done.
Redmi 8A Review: Battery
Redmi 8A is backed by a 5,000mAh Li-Po battery, which easily lasted me around a day on a single charge, which is less than what I have come to expect out of Redmi A series smartphones. Charging time with the included charger is around 150-180 minutes, which is not fast, but acceptable considering the price.
We tried to run PCMark’s Work 2.0 Battery Life test, which subjects the phone to heavy usage and finds out how the battery performs in those conditions. It yielded a result of 9 hours and 37 minutes, which is in line with our on usage.
Redmi 8A Review: Verdict
Redmi 8A starts at Rs. 6,499 and goes all the way up to Rs 6,999. The 2GB RAM and 32GB storage we got for our review costs Rs. 6,499. For that price, the Redmi 8A offers great looks, a good display, big battery life and nothing more to be honest.
Things like a fingerprint sensor would have been appreciable. The camera is just passable, the charging times are too slow, the software lags quite frequently. However, the price of this smartphone makes all the difference. Redmi 8A is a good smartphone, but the camera needs a lot of work.

Xiaomi India has just launched two new smartphones, the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro. While the latter gets all the bells and whistles, the former cuts down on a few things in order to achieve the lower price tag. Even though both devices run on MIUI 10 powered by Android 9, here's how your experience is going to be different.
Redmi Note 8 Specifications
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor coupled with the Adreno 610 GPU. It features a 6.3-inch fullHD+ IPS LCD display. The dual-SIM handset packs in up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. It runs on MIUI 10 backed by Google's Android 9 Pie operating system. All of this is backed by a 4,000mAh battery, which also supports 18W fast charging.
On the optics front, there is a quad-camera setup at the back consisting of a 48-megapixel primary, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro lens.
Redmi Note 8 First Impressions
As soon as I picked up the Redmi Note 8, it felt like most mid-range smartphones of 2019 from the back. However, where most smartphones look the same, the Redmi Note 8 stood out. The company has given a blue effect on the bezels making the phone look attractive even when the screen is off. This is a design feature that not many people will appreciate but it does help the phone to stand out of the crowd.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 comes in three colour variants, Neptune Blue, Space Black and Moonlight White. I personally liked the Moonlight White colour variant as it was looking quite premium over the other variants. Also, the quad-camera array helps the phone stand out in its segment.
I even spent time with the phone's software but it currently feels quite similar to other Xiaomi devices. However, the company has promised that it will soon roll out the MIUI 11 update, which will bring significant changes over the MIUI 10.
Overall, the Redmi Note 8 brings a significant upgrade over the Redmi Note 7 in terms of design and cameras. However, we will need to test out the phone in order to have a better idea of its performance.
Redmi Note 8 Pro Specifications
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro sports a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2340x1080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T processor. It packs in up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage, which is further expandable using a microSD card. Under the hood, there is a 4,500mAh battery powering everything.
In terms of optics, the smartphone sports a quad-camera setup at the back consisting of a 64-megapixel primary, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Upfront, there is a 20-megapixel selfie shooter.
Out of the two smartphones, it was the Redmi Note 8 Pro that heard the loudest of the cheers when it was launched. The smartphone brings a lot of unique features to the table. One of my favourite things has to be the new HDR display, which is a segment-first. It is also equipped with a 64-megapixel quad-camera array, which the company promises can beat the Realme XT. However, we will need to test that out thoroughly once we get our hands on a review unit.
As for the design, it is quite inspired by the recently launched flagship, Redmi K20 and K20 Pro. The mid-range smartphone looks quite premium with the new design and I personally liked the white colour variant.
There are two major highlights of the Redmi Note 8 Pro, the processor and the quad-camera setup, both of which have to be tested out in the real world before we can give our verdict.
