Huawei Honor 4C First Impressions

Huawei has launched two budget devices at an event in India on May 8. The two phones that Huawei has launched are the Huawei Honor 4C and the Huawei Honor Bee with the price tags of Rs 8,999 and Rs 4,999 respectively. While the Huawei Honor Bee is slated to compete in the entry level market with the Micromax Canvas SparkUnite 3, Redmi, etc. it is the Huawei Honor 4C that caught our eye and is aiming for the people who want a feature rich smartphone, with good on-board specifications.

Huawei-Honor-4C

Design and Build

Looking at the Huawei Honor 4C and you will notice that it looks a lot like it big bad brother the Honor 4X. The Huawei Honor 4C has all the similar design elements of the Honor 4X such as the textured plastic removable back cover, the same positioning and the look of the camera, similar flat edges and so on. The device is 8.8mm thin and has a weight of 162 grams, which is impressive at this price level. The overall build quality is good and the carved ‘honor’ branding on the rear side and the silver coloured rim around the front face adds a bit of elegance to the device, which makes it look much premium than it is and gives a visual effect of being a flagship phone, which it is not. Surprisingly, the white coloured model looks more attractive than one in black, due to the chrome finish and much more elegant background.  The phone has a nice grip to it. The rear cover is removable, but sadly the battery isn't, which makes it impossible to use the old way of switching off your phone when it hangs, we simply removed the battery. You will need to remove the rear cover to add in the microSD card or the dual SIMs.

Display

Huawei-Honor-4C

The Huawei Honor 4C comes with a 5-inch 1280 x 720 pixel display, which is a 720p display i have to say i expected more but the price tag also suffices for it. This gives it a pixel density of 294 ppi which is reasonably decent display at the price point. The display is bright and vibrant, but one thing that is annoying is that the screen is a fingerprint magnet. The display has an IPS panel so the viewing angles are great, but there is no Corning Gorilla Glass protection, which is a downer.

Chipset, RAM, Storage

Huawei-Honor-4C

Just like the Honor 4X, the Honor 4C also has a HiSilicon Kirin chipset. The Kirin 620 system on chip houses a 64-bit octa-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.2GHz along with Mali T450 GPU, which we feel is a decent spec. sheet as for the price they are offering it for. While the chipset supports 4G LTE as well, the Honor 4C is not a 4G phone, which comes as a shock as now all the phones in this price bracket in the market are offering 4G LTE. According to GSMArena, the Kirin 620 is comparable to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 SoC. We will have to compare performance numbers to say for sure. The chipset is paired with 2GB of RAM, which in these days is essential.

The Huawei Honor 4C comes with 8GB of storage and you have the option to expand it via a microSD card slot which can be accessed by opening the rear cover, which comes as no surprise.

Connectivity, OS

On the connectivity front, you have 3G Dual SIM support. As mentioned above, the Honor 4C does not support 4G LTE in India. Apart from this you get Wi-fi 802.11n, Wi-fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 along with GPS/GLONASS.

Just like the Honor 4X, the Honor 4C also sports the Emotion UI 3.0 skin atop the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS, which is said to be upgradable to Lollipop soon.

Camera, Battery

Huawei-Honor-4C

Huawei Honor 4C comes loaded with a 13MP rear camera and also packs a 5MP front-facing camera, which we feel is awesome. The rear camera comprises a Sony BSI sensor and comes with an f/2.0 aperture lens, and let's just face it sony lenses are the best lenses available for mobiles at this point. The UI on the camera app is similar to what we had seen on the Honor 4X as well as the Honor 6 Plus, and we have to say that we simply love it.

The Huawei Honor 4C has got a 2550mAh battery which is not removable, and that we do not like a bit. While taking a look at the battery capacity it seems like the phone should be able to hold up to a day’s worth of usage. But we will reserve our final verdict till we put the phone through our tests.

Conclusion

Huawei’s online brand Honor is trying to woo buyers who are buying a smartphone for the first time or those who already had a smartphone, but are looking for a budget upgrade. For a Rs 8,999 price point, the phone packs in lot of features, but how the phone performs as an everyday device is what will matter. Many will point out the fact that the phone lacks 4G support, which is a fair point considering many players have released budget devices even under Rs 8,999 with 4G LTE support. But at the moment, the 4G LTE is limited to only a few pockets in the country, but it is always better to have the option to future proof your device. But who knows, just like Moto E, Huawei may also release a 4G variant if it deems necessary. At Rs 8,999, the Huawei will be competing against Yu Yureka and Lenovo A7000, both of which are capable devices. Not to mention the Lenovo A6000, Moto E, Xiaomi Redmi 2 as well. We will have to run the Honor 4C through our tests to see which one emerges as the winner.

If everything fails just contact your manufacturers service center and tell them any fake story that can be realistic and tell them to find the problem or tell me whats wrong. By my personal experience I can actually say that 70% of the time service centers are unable to find the flaw and are unable to identify that its a rooted and a bricked device both at the same time. So they will surely give you a replacement in a short amount of time. You will have to be patient of course, as you are giving your device a second bonus life without even spending a penny over it.

Apple iPad Pro

iPad pro

Apple is developing a business-focused iPad for some time a 12.9-inch iPad known as the iPad Pro. Read on for all its reported specs and features and details that we have got to know so far, and more are emerging now daily -

A new, bigger screen

The new iPad is rumoured that it will be Apple's biggest iPad yet. The iPad Air 2 which is currently the latest iPad by Apple, being released in 2014, The Screen measures 9.7-inches diagonally , while the iPad mini 3 sports a 7.9-inch Screen. Leaks suggest that the latest model The iPad Pro's screen will measure between 12.2 - 12.9-inches, with dimensions of 305.3 x 220.8 x 7mm, which seems quite cool as it would be awesome to work on as you get more real estate to work on and you can see more.

A display that size would be much bigger than the recently launched 12-inch MacBook by Apple in 2015, and would be away from the casual web browsing and gaming approach that currently Apple follows and into more business-facing ventures. A larger display also means that the long wait for multi-tasking for iOS is over, and which will allow users to run multiple apps on the screen simultaneously.

The screen is also alleged to sport improved touch latency for using the feature Force Touch, which was currently introduced into the Apple Watch and the New Macbook - which will make it possible to perform a variety of different actions in different apps using the same surface - and use with a Bluetooth-enabled stylus.

A stylus

Apple could be poised to reverse its long-standing aversion to styluses. Former chief executive Steve Jobs was vocal in his dislike of the accessory, saying in 2007: “Who wants a stylus? You have to get them and put them away, you lose them, yuck! Nobody wants a stylus.”

A report from respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in January claimed the Californian company intends to produce an accompanying stylus based on a number of stylus themed patents Apple has filed and his own research, AppleInsider has reported.

Apple has filed numerous patents around stylus use with iPads in the past few years, but no official Apple product has made it to market as of yet, and we know so that it will be debuting with the Apple iPad Pro because of the large screen and the business nature of the new tablet. Stylus made by third party companies have been available since the launch of the very first iPad in 2010.

A pressure-sensitive stylus could be developed to support 3D handwriting and wireless charging in the future, he said, but it's unlikely these features would be included in any product released in 2015, but we still hope that it comes as a free accessory with the iPad Pro, not an added gimmick which we have to pay more to get.

A stylus is another indication that the product is destined for an business and student market given the handwriting recognition and precision it affords. Last year, the company teamed up with IBM to create mobile apps for businesses and for IBM to help sell iPads to corporate customers, which is just a small wink from Apple hinting towards the launch of the iPad Pro.

Design

in January, a user on China's Weibo microblogging site posted a photo of what appeared to be a mould for the rear shell of the tablet, with an estimated display size of 12-13 inches. The photo was simply labeled "iPad Pro".

ipad_pro_mould_3165177a
The picture of the reported mould was uploaded to Weibo

The photo was reportedly taken at Apple manufacturer Foxconn's factory in China. Although the image is blurred, it does appear to show a faint impression of an Apple logo in the centre and perhaps a rear camera feature in a corner, could it be a fake?

It could but we are not thinking so as more and more photos are coming online and Sonny Dickson also sent out cases that were designed by manufacturers for the iPad Pro.

Apple Pay comes to iPad

A source told AppleInsider the new iPad Pro is finally going to include a near field communication (NFC) radio, allowing it to act as a payment-receiving terminal for Apple Pay.

When will it be available

Production has been rumoured to be delayed until September over issues with the display panels, people familiar with the matters told Bloomberg. Apple's display suppliers include Sharp, Japan Display and LG Display, according to the company’s supplier list. Share prices at all three companies fell in March following the news.

The time frame suggests the iPad Pro could be announced alongside the next cycle of iPhones, believed to be called the iPhone 7, in September, or at a separate event in October like the iPad Air 2 and mini 3's launch event, should Apple choose to stick to the launch cycle of recent years, which we hope it will.

Be Sure to tell us what do you think about the new iPad Pro, and will you buy it when it comes out or not, and why? Tell us in the Comments Section below.

Best Cloud Storage Services

The Top 3 Best Cloud Storage Services that we love and we hope that you would too.

Google-Drive_OneDrive_Dropbox1-624x351

1.)Dropbox

dropbox

Dropbox is a favorite in the cloud storage world because it's reliable, easy to use, and a breeze to set up. Your files live in the cloud and you can get to them at any time from Dropbox's website, desktop applications for Mac, Windows and Linux, or the iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Kindle Fire mobile apps.

You can store any kind of file in Dropbox, by either uploading to the website or adding it with the desktop apps. Those apps live in your file system so that you can easily move files from your computer to the cloud and vice versa by dragging and dropping them into your Dropbox folder. The service automatically and quickly syncs your files across all of your devices, so you can access everything, everywhere. There is no size limit on files you upload to Dropbox with the desktop or mobile apps, but larger files can take several hours to upload, depending on your connection speed.

Dropbox gets a lot of praise for its clean design, and rightfully so. Though I am not a fan of Dropbox's website because the design is very basic and it doesn't give you many options to view and organize your files, its mobile apps and desktop apps are beautiful and easy to navigate.

Dropbox gives its users plenty of opportunities to get extra storage to beef up the paltry 2GB you get when you sign up. If you participate in the quick Getting Started tutorial, you get 250MB. Turn on the automatic photo upload feature on any of the mobile apps to get 3GB of extra space (you can get only 3GB total, not per device). You can earn 500MB for each friend you refer to Dropbox who actually signs up for the service, up to 16GB total, or 32 referrals. If you have a brand-new HTC or Samsung phone with the Dropbox app pre installed, you may get 50GB of storage for up to two years, depending on the device.

Pros:-

Dropbox works equally well on PCs and Macs, Android and iOS. The service is so simple and elegantly designed, that it's easy for anyone to master. Its desktop applications seamlessly blend with your computer's file system.

Cons:-

In my experience, Dropbox's website design is one of the weakest of the cloud storage services. It's simple and clean, but you can't control the way your files are displayed. However, you do get many more sharing options on the Dropbox website, which almost makes up for the bare-bones design. And even the free storage provide is very less (2GB).

2.)OneDrive (aka SkyDrive)

onedrive

First up is OneDrive, Microsoft's storage option. Those who use Windows 8 and 8.1 have OneDrive built into their operating system, where it shows up in the file explorer next to all of the files on your computer's hard drive. However, anyone can use it on the Web, by downloading a desktop app for Mac and earlier versions of Windows, or the OneDrive Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Xbox apps.

You can store any kind of file in the service, including photos, video and documents, and then access them from any of your Windows PCs or mobile devices. The service organizes your files by type for you, so it's easy to find what you need.

The Android, iOS and Windows Phone apps all have automatic photo uploads, meaning that when you shoot a photo with your phone, it's automatically saved to your account. OneDrive's biggest strength is that it works closely with Microsoft Office apps, such as Word or PowerPoint, so when you launch one of those applications you'll see a list of recent documents saved to OneDrive. If you have an Office 365 subscription and open a document saved in OneDrive, you can collaborate on it in real time with other people. You'll even be able to see the changes they make as they make them.

Microsoft is hoping that OneDrive will be the place where you store your photos, and the company is working on technology that will eventually sort all of the photos you take based on how important and meaningful they are. For instance, if you take a photo of your kids, a picture of a special meal and a shot of your parking space so you can find your car later, OneDrive would be able to understand the importance of each picture, save the ones it thinks are the most useful, and trash the rest. That's still big-picture stuff for OneDrive, but it gives you an idea of the direction Microsoft is moving in.

Pros:-

OneDrive works seamlessly with Windows devices because it's built in to the Windows operating systems running on PCs, tablets and Windows Phone. It's easy to open and edit files from OneDrive in Microsoft's other applications, such as Word or the Photos app. Since OneDrive is closely tied with Office, it's a good choice for anyone who uses Office frequently.

Cons:-

If you don't have all Windows devices, OneDrive doesn't have as much appeal. There are apps for other devices, but it's clear that OneDrive is really meant for the Windows set.

In order to use OneDrive, you must sign up for a Microsoft account, which gives you access to Outlook, Xbox Live, and other Microsoft services. Whether or not you want all those extras is up to you.

OneDrive for Business currently (as of early 2015) has a limit of 20,000 files that you can store in your account. Microsoft says it is working to change this, but we don't have exact timing on when that limit will disappear.

3.)Google Drive

Google Drive

What started as just a handful of helpful online office tools called Google Docs, has transformed into Google Drive, a complete office suite with cloud storage. You get a little bit of everything with this service, including a word processor, spreadsheet application, and presentation builder, plus 15GB of free storage space.

If you already have a Google account, you can already access Google Drive. You just have to head to drive.google.com and enable the service. You get 15GB of storage for anything you upload to Drive, including photos, videos, documents, Photoshop files and more. However, you have to share that 15GB with your Gmail account, photos you upload to Google+ and any documents you create in Google Drive.

While you can access any of your files from the Drive website, you can also download the Drive desktop app for Mac and PC to manage your files from your computer. You can organize all of your files in the desktop app, and they'll sync with the cloud so you can get to them anywhere.

Drive is built into Google's Web-based operating system Chromium, so if you have a Chromebook, Google Drive is your best cloud storage option. Like other cloud storage services, Drive has apps for iOS and Android, so you can manage your files from your phone.

Google Drive has the benefit of a built-in office suite, where you can edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, even if you created the document in another program. The service also a large collection of extras, such as third-party apps that can send faxes or sign documents.

What I like most about Google Drive is that you can drag and drop files into the Drive website and they'll be uploaded automatically. You can also preview attachments from Gmail in Google Drive, and save those files to your cloud.

Pros:-

Google Drive requires very little setup if you already have a Google account. What's more, if you use Gmail, it's easy to save attachments from your email directly to Drive with just a few clicks.

Cons:-

While you can organize your files and photos in Google Drive, there's no way to automatically upload photos from your phone directly to the service. Instead, Google has an Auto Backup feature in the Google+ mobile apps, which sends your photos to your Google+ profile. I'd like for Google to create a central space where I can store and upload all of my files that combines the best of Google+'s photo editing features and Google Drive's document editing tools.

The Apple Watch is a tempting wearable, but there are many reasons to stay away, and here are our Top 5 Reasons not to buy an Apple Watch.

Apple Watch

Starting of with the list of The Top 5 Reasons not to buy an Apple Watch -

Expensive

The price tag of the new Apple Watch is the first reason not to buy this product. The introductory price of this product is $349, and we all know that's not the one we want to buy. That is a lot of money to spend on a watch that is an accessory not a necessity. And when you get to the Customization of this thing you go on a crazy budget and get about spending in total when buying the Apple Watch Sport from about $700 - $800.

iPhone Only

If you are thinking about purchasing an Apple Watch then consider its limited compatibility. The new Apple Watch will only be compatible with iPhone 5 and above. This means that you will not be able to switch to an Android phone, and also that you must have the latest version of the iPhone, but thinking of this we also have to keep in mind that google also does the same thing with the Android Wear, But there are reports of Android Wear coming to iPhone's so lets hope the same happens with the Apple Watch.

iPhone 6

Battery

RunKeeper Apple WatchUnlike regular wrist watches, the Apple Watch needs to be charged regularly, and that means daily. You will not be able to just take this watch off after a long day. You will need to make sure it is on its charger before you go to sleep or you risk your watch dying on you in the middle of the day. Also, if the battery is rechargeable this means that it will possibly have a lifespan of five years like your cell phone, Really Smart move Apple and it will also have a non replaceable battery like the unibody iPhones.

Security Issues

Mint Apple WatchBefore you purchase this product to help track of your health and fitness, think about how safe this information may or may not be. Previously, Apple has had a security breach with the iCloud. This breach allowed hackers access too many files and pictures, the same could happen here with the spammers getting our health and Apple Pay data who knows what will happen. Will the Apple Watch be susceptible to the same type of security breaches? If yes then i'm sorry i'm cancelling my pre-order.

Apple Watch 2nd Gen.

The new Apple Watch will possibly become the first generation, this year(2015) which means that Apple will make upgrades to it and release its second generation. Like previously released Apple products the second generation will outshine the 1st Hugely because of the new add-ons that will become available. And first-generation devices usually have more buzz and fewer features than second generation devices.

Panasonic Eluga L 4G

Panasonic has launched its first 4G smartphone in India at Rs 12,990, Appropriately named The Panasonic Eluga L 4G, Which personally i like alot.

Panasonic Eluga L 4G

The new phone sports a unibody design which as per us is great, and has a thickness of 6.1 mm which is thin compared to the competition. The phone, also boasts Corning Gorilla Glass 3 at both front and back, features a 5-inch HD IPS display based on one-glass-solution (OGS) technology and a Qualcomm 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor having 1GB of RAM.

It has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The phone has an internal storage space of 8GB, with an option to expand its memory up to 32GB using a microSD card which is okay, but we expected more.

The Panasonic Eluga l 4G runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) which is bad, totally bad as at this moment all the new smartphones running Android are launching in-box with Android Lollipop and Panasonic is not even doing that, but then again if they are giving us 4G then that means that they want to future proof this phone and would be launching an update soon enough.
