Moto G5s gets a price cut in India, But for a limited period of time

As Motorola is preparing to launch the G6 family, the company reduced the prices of the last year's Moto G5s for a limited period of time. The smartphone was launched at a price of Rs. 14,999. It is now available at Rs. 9,999 as a limited period offer which is available only till April 11. The offer is a part of the company's 45th anniversary.

Specifications

Moto G5s features a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC with Adreno 505 GPU. The device packs in 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage which is further expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. Under the hood, there is a 3,000mAh battery powering up the internals.

On the optics front, the Moto G5s sports a 16-megapixel camera at the back with f/2.0 aperture and a LED flash. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture and a LED flash.

The telecom-operator has rolled out the plan for those who are interested in watching the whole IPL series via their smartphone. However, anyone on the BSNL network can take advantage of the new plan.

Commenting on the new pack, BSNL said, “BSNL presents IPL pack Unlimited data STV-248 for prepaid mobile customers which give unlimited data (3 GB data per day) with the validity of 51 days during the period of IPL cricket match. This will be useful for our subscriber to stream live IPL matches at a very economical rate.”

The new STV-248 plan is a limited period offer from the company. The offer can be availed starting today until the end of April. The new STV-248 pack offers 153GB of mobile data at Rs. 248 for 51 days. However, the customers will not get the whole 153GB at once. It will come as 3GB of data per day.

Recently, Reliance Jio also introduced a new plan for the IPL season. Jio is offering 102GB of 4G data at Rs. 251 for 51 days. BSNL has a better offer as it is providing 51GB more data at Rs. 248. However, Jio is offering 4G data while BSNL only has 3G around the country.

For the IPL season, Bharti Airtel also announced that it will be offering free live streaming of IPL matches via the Hotstar application.

Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant is working on bringing a new gaming smartphone. The upcoming smartphone will be called Black Shark. The smartphone is set to unveil on April 13. We have already seen a lot of leaks and rumours and now we have another teaser.

In the latest teasers on Weibo, Xiaomi has shown us how the smartphone will look like. According to the teaser, the smartphone will have curved edges and the power button will be located to the right. The power button was green which might mean that Black Shark is going with a whole Black and Green theme for the gaming smartphone.

There was also another post on Weibo that claims the Black Shark smartphone will use something called 'X antenna' technology "X antenna" technology. With this, the gaming smartphone will have GPS, Wi-Fi, LTE, and MIMO network modules placed at each corner as shown in the image.

Facebook to soon introduce "delete for everyone" feature on Messenger: Here's why

Facebook has been all over the news lately after the whole Cambridge Analytica thing. Recently, reports came out that the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg deleted a few messages sent to a few users. A normal user does not have the ability to delete sent messages in the Messenger, however, the CEO does.

Tech Crunch, an American online publisher approached Facebook with some email receipts as proof that messages were deleted. Facebook then confirmed to Tech Crunch that they did delete some of the messages. In defence, Facebook also said that they will soon be introducing the feature to delete sent messages for everyone.

As a response to deleting messages, Facebook said, "We will now be making a broader delete message feature available. This may take some time and until this feature is ready, we will no longer be deleting any executives’ messages. We should have done this sooner – and we’re sorry that we did not"

The company claims that they already have a timer feature on their Messenger application. The feature lets the message disappear after a certain period of time which is given by the sender. However, the feature is currently available only in the "Secret Conversations." In the recent reports, the messages which were deleted by the Facebook executives were a part of a normal conversation.

In a nutshell, just to defend themselves, Facebook is soon gonna introduce the delete/unsend message feature on its Messenger app. The feature is going to be something similar to what we have seen on WhatsApp.

Snapchat has finally introduced Group Video Chat feature in the application. The video chat on the app can accumulate up to 16 friends. If you want to add more friends, you can switch to group voice call which can accommodate up to 32 friends.

How to use Group Chat on Snapchat?

  • Update the Snapchat application form Google Play Store or Apple App Store
  • Create a group by adding a few friends to a chat or go to an existing group
  • Click on the Video icon in order to start the video call
  • Friends in the group will receive a notification and they can join the call

The company made the announcement of the new feature under the News section of their website. The post reads, "Today, we’re making Chat even more fun. Now you can video chat with up to 16 of your friends at one time. Just tap the video camera icon in a Group Chat to get your friends together! Friends in the Group Chat will receive a notification inviting them to join."

If the new features are not showing up on your Snapchat application, you might have to wait until the update comes to your smartphone.
