The Samsung Galaxy S8 is an extremely feature-filled smartphone. But, we have found 5 reasons to why you might want the skip this one.
Samsung recently unveiled its new flagship to the world the Galaxy S8. Thus bring an end to all the speculations and leaks that were in the market regarding this smartphone. Though the Galaxy S8 having a lot of great features, did not take us by surprise. As it being the first flagship launch since the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, Samsung had to hit the ball out of the park.
Do not take us in the wrong way, The Samsung Galaxy S8 most likely is going to be the world's best Android phone of the year. With the bezel-less infinity display, modern design, an artificial intelligence software “Bixby”, Samsung Dex, great hardware, and much more.
But, we still think that you should hold off on buying the Galaxy S8. And either go in for some other smartphone or wait till the next Note or Galaxy S9 launches. Here we have curated five reasons on why you will want to skip the S8.
No camera upgrades
There is no doubt that when the Samsung Galaxy S7 launched it had the best in class camera, but to use the same camera module for next flagship is just lazy. We expected that the camera in the galaxy S8 would be mind-blowing and much better than the S7, Pixel or the iPhone 7. But, No Samsung outfitted the Galaxy S8 with the same camera found in the Galaxy S7. At least Samsung could have gone the route of the dual cameras that every tech company is following. Let's hope the next Note or the Galaxy gets a better camera module.
Fingerprint sensor
We do appreciate Samsung making the effort and giving us a bezel-less display, and going the extra mile to add a retina scanner. But, the Galaxy S8's biggest design flaw is its fingerprint sensor placement. Samsung has now moved the fingerprint scanner from the front to the rear adjacent to the camera. This basically makes the fingerprint sensor useless, as now you will have to find the sensor on the back and you will be smudging the camera lens a lot. Though we here at Beetel Bite prefer rear fingerprint sensor, but not so awkwardly placed as the Galaxy S8.
The Galaxy Note 7 debacle
Though the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus are great smartphones, but we would still say try not to buy these as soon as they come out and wait at least a few months. This is due to the Galaxy Note 7 debacle did not happen a long time ago, and Samsung may still have to iron out some kinks in the Galaxy S8.

The display
Samsung has made the Infinity display in the Galaxy S8 a huge deal. And mind our language but, we feel its extremely cool. But, such a large screen as per us is not required by everyone. And Samsung though promoting the screen as a Quad-HD display has put a bullet point on their website saying that the screen will come default on 1080p and you can crank that up in the settings if you want.
A lot of alternatives available
If Samsung Galaxy S8 didn't win you over with its amazing features like Dex, Bixby, etc. there is a wide variety of smartphones you can buy which suit your needs. You can go in for the Apple iPhone 7 Plus which as per us is also a great smartphone. Or, if you like the Android flavour better go for the Google Pixel. And if you do not have a huge budget try the OnePlus 3T it is an equally capable phone. Or if neither of these smartphones appealed to you just go ahead and get an Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, we don't see many new changes in the S8 vs the S7.
Snap Inc. on Friday announced that they would be adding a feature in their application. Snapchat where users can now search through images and videos that other users have posted as public.
This new announcement came after Facebook encouraged users to take more photos and edit them in Facebook by adding digital stickers just like Snapchat.
Snapchat adds new feature
Snapchat posted a blog post stating. This new update will enable users to search snaps(photos and videos) posted to the Our Story option using artificial intelligence(machine learning technology).
The "Our Story" feature lets Snapchat users post their Snaps from the day be a part of a larger public collection. Thus allowing the users to search for the latest updates. Like users can add a local basketball game snaps into Our Story. After those other users can search for that and view it.
The company says that this feature will be rolled out in stages starting Friday when it will be released in a few cities globally. This feature will be an addition to the curated stories section, where all major events already appear.
Snapchat though starting the trend. Where people share images with each other on a daily basis that have an expiration time. Is now facing tough competition from multi-billion dollar companies like Facebook, Whatsapp, and Instagram. Thus, it has to stay ahead in the game with new features that people like to retain the market share.
Utilizing these new feature users will be able to search for various stories. Thus making the application more accessible to people.

BlackBerry cuts the cord on hardware doubles down on software
Blackberry Ltd. the Canada-based firm has been struggling to gain market share in the smartphone industry for quite some time now. And after dropping out from the smartphone hardware business and turning to the software side, light can be seen for the once tech giant. And maybe blackberry would be able to return to its former glory.

The company has to report its financial statement on Friday, says that there are no major gaps in its software portfolio, due to the integration of recent acquisitions.
Blackberry also accepts that more work is needed to get its offerings into the health, automotive, and other sectors. Which may help them in returning to their glory days. For now, the investors are unsure on how to value the firm and are waiting for the Chief Executive Officer of Blackberry Mr. John Chen to guide them. And moreover, this could help Blackberry achieve the 30 percent sales bump it targeted in software revenue for the current fiscal year.
Blackberry has now gone from selling its own phones with their own servers and software. To just being a manufacturer of the software that will be provided to others.
What the future holds
Blackberry is also trying to target the market to connect sensors to the other devices. And also has heavily invested in high-growth areas like cyber security consulting and autonomous vehicles. The company also acquired Good Technology and WatchDox in 2015. Which helped them secure the top position in the enterprise mobility market. They also developed the QNX industrial operating system which is key to self-driving vehicles.
They now no longer have to make or sell the smartphones bearing their branding. As of now, the China-based TCL Communications will handle that on behalf of them. This deal was made last year having both the parties taking a cut from the sales of the smartphones. These new branded smartphones are set to sell from April.

From April, TCL is going to start selling the first smartphone in this collaboration the KeyOne. Which was announced last month, at Mobile World Congress 2017.
John Chen was announced CEO of BlackBerry in 2013. And said in December that the company would require for or five more quarters to stop the decline in revenue and turn it around.
