Your Apple Watch screen is prone to cracking. Here is what to do

Apple Watch
Smartwatches are now a trend in 2019.

Glass screens cracking due to abuse and drops and force applied the screen is normal, However, Apple themselves claim that the screens of their watches can crack without even touching the watch. This means that the displays are prone to cracking due to a design flaw. This is not the first time the company has accepted to have design flaws in their products.

Apple also claims that only the Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 are affected and the rest of the Apple Watch generations i.e. Series 1 and Series 4 are unaffected by this issue. Considering Apple Watch is one of the best selling smartwatches right now, this issue can affect probably hundreds of thousands of watches.

The glass repair costs $229 to $289 for regular variants with the Hermès variants costing $329 and the ceramic variant costing $800 for the glass repair. With repair costs so high and design flaw, many of the users are excepted to be mad at Apple. However, Apple also said that an Apple store or an Apple-authorized service provider will replace the screen on eligible units that exhibit this type of crack, free of charge so that the users do not have to suffer.

Android 10 is the name of the upcoming update.

A week ago, Google revealed the name of its next-generation Android operating system, disappointingly, we will get no more dessert names. Google has decided to end the dessert naming tradition and they have named it Android 10.

Google's Android VP of engineering, Dave Burke has announced the official name of the next generation of the Android is just Android 10. Talking about the new redesign of Android, Burke mentioned how Android started off “without a huge amount of thought” and that's generally been the theme of the platform to start with the simplest thing and continue improving it later.

Dave Burke and Dan Sadler, Software Engineers of Android, also said that the reason for changing from names to number is just due to the feedback of the people who think dessert names are not relatable globally.

Dave Burke shared that the list of dessert names for Andriod Q were mostly “exotic,” and their significance would have been lost with many people around the world.

Additionally, Burke said that if the naming was in his hands, he might have named Android Q as Queen Cake. Although it's not a popular dessert, Google decided to drop the name and called it Android 10.

Burke also announced that the internal name for 10 was Quince Tart, and thus ‘qt' codename is already there in the AOSP build of Android. Sadler said that they will continue having a codename internally for subsequent versions of Android.

Android 10 will be released on September 3 for Google Pixel devices. Also, for the first time, Oneplus 7 and 7 Pro will be getting the updates of the latest android version along with Google's phone on the same day.

ZAAP Aqua Pro rugged Bluetooth speaker Review: Your affordable music companion

zaap, zaap bluetooth speaker, affordable bluetooth speakers
ZAAP Aqua Pro is an affordable rugged Bluetooth speaker.

ZAAP is a relatively new brand to enter the Indian audio market, earlier it used to deal in various kinds of smartphone accessories ranging from power banks to car mounts. I wanted to test out a good rugged Bluetooth speaker during one of my trips and the company was kind enough to send its ZAAP Aqua Pro for review. Here's how the device performed during my review.

Price: Rs. 2,399 (Buy Now)

The first thing that I loved about the device is its ruggedness, it can really take a beating, then a dive in the water and still stay kicking with music playing at full volume thanks to its IP67 dust and water resistance. It's also shockproof, meaning any sudden shocks that the device gets, won't knock anything loose.

The body is well-shaped, due to which it is easy to hold and put on any surface. On the front, we get to see a metal grille that provides the two speaker units protection from damage. On the right side, there is a protrusion, which holds the charging port, power controls and aux port. The controls are located on the top, which are easy to access and are quite effective.

zaap, zaap bluetooth speaker, affordable bluetooth speakers
It offers great sound as well.

Overall, in terms of build, I would state that the ZAAP Aqua Pro sports a compact construction, while at the same time having a powerful body.

The device features two 3.5W speakers with 2.0 bass port and Bass Plus technology, which is able to handle disco and EDM tracks quite well. Classical tones feel a bit stretched out by different tones and instruments sounds. Singer tones captured very well across audio ranges. The speaker has good sound distribution even on lower volume.

zaap, zaap bluetooth speaker, affordable bluetooth speakers
A USB Type-C port would have been much better.

The one place, where I thought that the ZAAP Aqua Pro could perform better was while playing hard rock or metal songs, where the bass was getting distorted, due to the intense beats coming from a beatbox rather than a pair of drums.

ZAAP Aqua Pro features Bluetooth 4.0 technology and has a range of 33 feet. Bluetooth pairing never an issue, though device identification takes slightly longer than expected.

As for the battery, the speaker was able to deliver over six hours of continuous playback, which I loved a lot. Even when the battery power was low, there was no decrease in the sound output, which makes it reliable for travel and long night gatherings.

At the price this is being offered, it is quite a good deal. It performs quite well and the ruggedness is a huge plus point. ZAAP Aqua Pro is a speaker that can be your music companion in most settings from a quiet room to a small pool party.
